Hey mods, seeing the potential impact of the article, perhaps it could be moved back into a forum with higher traffic. Ie. Regional or major? It does seem that the article relates to the training required not necessarily the ATP rule.

It seems to me that what we're talking about here is pilot training, NOT the ATP rule implementation. Don't confuse the two. The training rule was initiated in 1999 (10 years before the crash), the ATP requirement came out after the crash and is set in stone to be implemented on August 2013. Sorry to burst your bubble.
