Can the MODS just rename the thread; "Fantasy Island" then close it, and we can all move along?

Why? Simple. If they rename the thread, SOMEONE will post a picture of the dude from "Fantasy Island," and Sy will either tell us he has communicated with him in the afterlife and he saw "de plane"...or he will tell us HE was really the guy and want to sue for copyright infringment of his picture...

Did a websearch for Sy...look what I found...

That nails it! Hilarious!
I am shocked they have not ran this as a speical theory update on CNN.

I'm not schitzo...and neither am I!

It can't be closed yet.....I predicted the following about 50 pages ago! It must come to fruition.

If only we could make direct [near] realtime observations of the top 90 feet of the ocean looking at the wind, temperature, and wave height. Gosh, if we could do that maybe the description would read like this:

The OSCAR product is a direct computation of global surface currents using satellite sea surface height, wind, and temperature. Currents are calculated using a quasi-steady geostrophic model together with an eddy viscosity based wind-driven ageostrophic component and a thermal wind adjustment. The model calculates a surface current averaged over the top 30m of the upper ocean.
OSCAR project information: Earth and Space Research (ESR)
Then to dream.... maybe there would be some enterprising grad student who would visualize the data, maybe like this: earth :: an animated map of global wind and weather

Sigh. If it weren't for the tragic loss of the SOB MH370 the reporters showing off their 9th grade educations would be entertaining.

Report: A Chinese patrol ship detects "pulse" signal in search for Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370.

http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...0-blackbox.jpg

It is consistent with where this signal's frequency supposed to be found, at 37.5 kilohertz. All parties seemed to be cautiously optimistic that this is the black box signal they've been looking for since this past week.

"I have been advised that a series of sounds have been detected by a Chinese ship in the search area. The characteristics reported are consistent with the aircraft black box," Angus Houston of Joint Agency Coordination Centre said. The agency had also received reports of white objects sighted on the ocean surface about 90 kilometers (56 miles) from where the electronic signals were detected.

Honeywell Aerospace, which made the boxes in the missing Malaysia Airlines plane, said the Underwater Acoustic Beacons on both the flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder operate at a frequency of 37.5 kilohertz plus or minus 1 kilohertz.

Waldock cautioned that "it's possible it could be an aberrant signal" from a nuclear submarine if there was one in the vicinity.

If the sounds can be verified, it would reduce the search area to about 10 square kilometers (4 square miles), Waldock said. Unmanned robot subs with sidescan sonar would then be sent into the water to try to locate the wreckage, he said.

John Goglia, a former U.S. National Transportation Safety Board member, called the report "exciting," but cautioned that "there is an awful lot of noise in the ocean."

"One ship, one ping doesn't make a success story," he said. "It will have to be explored. I guarantee you there are other resources being moved into the area to see if it can be verified."

More ‘pings’ heard in Indian Ocean, MH370 search shifts further south
Three 'acoustic events' in MH370 search

http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...504_signal.gif

Retired Air Chief Marshal Angus Houston confirmed this at a press conference in Perth, according to a report on the Sydney Morning Herald.

Houston said Australia’s Ocean Shield picked up the “acoustic detection” at an area some 300 nautical miles from where a Chinese vessel heard a similar electronic pulse yesterday.

“It's something that needs to be investigated. The search is a dynamic thing,” he was quoted as saying in the daily.

Yesterday, the Chinese ship Haixun 01 reported receiving two pulse signals at a 37.5kHz frequency, which is consistent with that of an aircraft's black box pinger, first on Friday and then again yesterday. Retired Air Chief Marshal Angus Houston, who is co-ordinating the search, told reporters in Perth on Sunday the Chinese ship Haixun 01 had detected two "acoustic events" which provided "some promise" and required a full investigation.

The first signal was detected on Friday and the second, which lasted 90 seconds, was detected on Saturday within two kilometres of the original detection.

“The fact that we’ve had two detections, two acoustic events in that location, provides some promise,” Houston said at a press briefing in Perth. “We’re running out of time in terms of the battery life on the emergency locator beacon.”

Pretty darn unlikely, lets just say that's not a likely tonal off of a sub and I can't think of any good reason for anyone to spend the fuel to send a sub way down there anyway. There's nothing to see or do down there so no operational need, and there are plenty of better (and closer) places to do training. Exception would be a boat actually sent to look for MH370, but it would most certainly not be emitting that tonal...can't listen for something you're already emitting

37.5Khz was selected because it's unlikley to be caused by natural or other manmade sources. I'm pretty this is what they think it is.

Malacca Detour Sham Evidence

http://i257.photobucket.com/albums/h...psbfe56ab5.jpg

At Beijing on 21 March 2014 Malaysian Authorities gave a briefing about the radar plot of a so-called mystery aircraft detected flying through the Straits of Malacca when MH370 disappeared.

??????????????? ??????[??] _????_???

The image of the military radar plot from RMAF Butterworth bears no relation to the claims made of an aircraft flying from VAMPI to GIVAL.

It does not corroborate claims by the Malaysian Government that MH370 flew from IGARI to VAMPI - GIVAL - IGREX.

This blog correctly identifies the falsehoods presented about an alleged detour through the Straits of Malacca:

MH370: Updated route, final radar plot (Updated) | Ogle Earth

In short there is no evidence MH370 ever turned west from IGARI and there is no reason to discount the eyewitness sighting by oil rig worker Mike McKay off south Vietnam of an aircraft briefly on fire.
