A good reminder for all of us to review the memory items, checklists, and emergency procedures. That could have been any of us with an engine failure. Praying for the families.

Saw a report that the pilot was NOT in the building, that he was found on roof... Not that this changes anything...

Read on another forum that someone had heard a fireman radio call say that 3 bodies were found in one sim. Who would ever have thought one could get killed while flying in a sim.

Tracked down about 8 or so friends/former coworkers that work there. All safe and accounted for.

The lot next to our hangar is an absolute media circus.

I've never really been one to believe in fate, but I guess when it's your time...

My sincerest prayers to everyone involved in this.

I could swear I just read on here somewhere about a retired ATC guy talking about doing king air work before hanging it up. Please tell me this wasn't him.

Looks like a VMC accident according to what has been described. Left engine failure, he lost directional control, aircraft banked left and flew into the building. Sad.

I did not know Mark personally, but having been in Wichita off and on a lot during the last 7 years I am sure I have been under his control many times. It does sound like a classic vmc incident aggravated by a flight control malfunction. I also have undergone aircraft flight training several times in that very FSI building, I probably knew one or more of the others. We lost a good one in Mark yesterday, and some trusted aviation training personnel. May they find peace wherever they are.
