Has John Cox made an appearance yet? Getting his 30 seconds of fame Monday morning quarterbacking the misfortunes of others?

"We didn't a miss a call, did you ask us to hold short, neither of heard any instruction to hold". They were still going when I got to downwind

That's because the FAA loves going after the certificates of airline guys.

Good God, I hate that response. Yes, X may be the LIMITATION for a tailwind, that does not make it safe or smart to take it up to that limit. I hear that sh*t all the time on the line. Sure, on a sunny, clear day with 12000 feet of runway... fine. In LGA, at night, in heavy rain.... ******* no.

What in the world makes you think that is solely a crosswind? Even more reason not to do it, a tailwind and a crosswind.

Easy explanation: the airplane knew something so Hilary had it taken out

Depends on what the landing data says. I'm pretty aware of what the book numbers say and it's doable on paper but not with my ticket. Point is if the numbers in any situation don't support your argument it can be a uphill battle, especially with a nonunion shop.

Yes - I hear they have special classes on how to go about it for airline guys specifically. The classes fill up early so they have to get special permission to apply as soon as the classes are announced!

With the history of runway incursions at LGA we need to be more judicious in the use of the phrase "unable" and "go around" with ANY tailwind component on a slick runway at LGA. If enough us us press the test button they'll flip the airport. They wait as long as they can to flip it because of the high workload it causes. Well....too damn bad
