Compass Updates - Saga Continues
Quote: Oh please... Management is its own thing. Schedulers are not management. All I'm saying is they are grunts like we are. Just like us they are put under the gun and told to get results like we are.

LOL, j/k man, I know you’re not a scheduler or management, they stand out. You are correct in that statement of them being used by the company just like we are, which is partly why you should never flip out on CS, BUT you still put your foot down and as somebody suggested go to the on-call CP if need be and call CS out blatantly illegal actions, just do it nicely!

Quote: Comical times in the box yesterday. Had one of our FA's needing to get home to SD. She has AA bennies and was listed. Made sure agent knew she goes ahead of the other 15 non-revs...AA senior mama FA lost her s&+t with agent... couldn't believe "we people" go ahead of her. Ours got only seat left, AA gal left behind. Loved it.

Quote: I had the same thing happen to me the other day commuting... Got first class on our plane while I watched 3 AA captains head to the very back.. It made me smile.

Oh hell yeah. I've lost my cool with them once. Called back and apologized. They're in the suck like we are... Theirs is just a different suck. Totally agree, though, Imma call em on crap, and I WILL be fatigued if the put me into rest after one leg back to base in the morning so I can do a sfo turn at 2045.
The bigger issue at hand is the CBA itself,it has more holes than a piece of Swiss cheese. It literally can be interpreted in the company's favor or the crews favor depending who's reading it. Hopefully the ALPA spends a little money on some good labor attorneys this go around to formulate and offer some tips on a solid contract vs what there is now. The current one reads like it was written in haste and not really gone over with a fine tooth comb.
Quote: Honestly guys get the chiefs on the line, it all comes down to the CBA, schedulers aren’t trained to know in-depth contractual language. You have a right to talk to any chief pilot for an operational issue or necessity. They (the chiefs) will not purposely or knowingly violate the CBA...ASK FOR THE CP ON CALL

Scheduling is a direct function of the SOC who reports to the 119 DO and the 119 Chief Pilot of the Airline
Scheduling refused to transfer me to the CP on call recently... said it was not their concern, LOL. I was angry that they manipulated the connection time in order make a pairing legal when I was gonna clearly timeout during the turn. I was like, um, I can just call them myself... he refused, probably because he knew he was being sketchy.

'So there I was...' I knew it, he knew it, I knew that he knew it, and he knew that I knew that he knew it.

pure speculation, but I feel the last contract was written with Compass management in mind and maybe there was a better relationship. TSH swoops in and just crap all over everything that was originally agreed upon on good faith.

Just get their number from the signature in a cp email and don't worry about what cs says.
