How good was that source Nu?

And ACL/Bar, do you still think an end to CPZ representation = likely furloughs at Delta?
Quote: I have typed a few responses to this and deleted them. Lets just see what the facts are first.
13 to 12 in favor of divesting the CPZ pilots to form their own MEC after ~4 hrs of passionate debate by both sides of the argument.

JMO, but the integrity of the flow to CPZ, and DAL pilot furlough protection protections has just been weakened.

At the same time the usual presentations were made that they are parking substantial numbers of 50 seaters, there are less DCI block hours, etc., however with the addition of 76 seater's the DCI ASM's are flat. IOW less DCI pilots and airplanes flying the same amount of lift with larger aircraft that can more easily replace a 100 seat DC9 than a 50 seat CRJ.

Management keeps beating as the same drum as they have for several years there is no suitable 100 seat replacement. What they really mean is for the mainline pilots

They don't like the E-series for the mainline, but seem to have no problem buying them for DCI to be flown for us at less than half the cost.

Well, with a vote like that, I hope that Pratter see it and realizes that the mainline group that represents the best interests of CPS are divided on the issue, and now is not the time to make a decision.

Just a guess, but it fall along NWA/DAL lines?

Heyas ACL,

It's a fair bet that LM KNEW he couldn't pull this off come February, thus the rush to judgement.

Ok, help me out. What would be the purpose, or gain, for DALPA to kill the flow and representation of the Compass pilots?

I agree! DALPA will absolutely have to pick a fight (IE. kick a BUNCH of pilots to the curb at mainline.....for starters) to even have a remote chance to keep the 100 seaters at mainline. You know that threat is coming and soon.

I sincerely hope you can, but thanks to the RAH debacle I don't see how that will happen without a B scale.

Does a B scale concept even have legs at Delta within the membership right now?

The Delta MEC did not "kill the flow and representation of the Compass pilots."

If the flow were to go away, Delta would revert back to 85 permitted 76 seat aircraft. There is tremendous incentive for management to keep the flow open. There is less outsourcing available if they can't.

The representation of Compass is decided by the Executive Council. They are meeting October 26.

There are two other wholly owned carriers in the DCI structure. Mesaba has a very limited flow (currently 12 pilots) and Comair has no flow provisions.
So the flow will remain because of contractural obligations?

We have pay scales for those jets now. If we allow DCI to fly em, we might as well furlough the bottom 25% of the list before it is allowed. It would make the fight a lot smaller when it came to a vote.

In reality I see the 10 seat jet coming to mainline. It would cause way too much bad blood not to.

As I understand it the issue with CPS being represented by DAL's MEC is that it makes our chair serve two master with diverging interests. There are better solutions to this problem.

Was this not a vote by Delta's MEC?

I think I just mis-read what he said about the flow. Will be interested to see how that works out if representation is not from DALPA.
