Quote: Below is your quote from the other thread where you justify AVA and Draft to “get back to BLG”. No my words but yours.

“so you’re say if a pilot bid to conflict, then doesn’t make it up in the view add window so as to keep his calendar clear, then accepts AVA, Draft or Volunteer equating to his/her BLG he is helping the company? Nah bro I see it as them flying their BLG at 1.5 helping themselves and not the company. They would have to fly their BLG anyway, now they’re doing at a heavy cost to the company”
Flying my BLG is not helping the company. Due to conflict from training or carryover, I have an option to make up in the view add at straight time or wait and have the company pay 150% for the same trip I would have taken at straight time. How is that helping the company. It funny you’re picking on that and not holding the union accountable for the pancake plan and other sections of last contract which are still not implemented.

NO PANCAKES PERIOD

Quote: Pancakes are not a defined benefit even if ALPA tries to sell it that way. It wasn’t a defined benefit the first two times they sent out their sales job but on try #3 magically it was.

According to the IRS “professionals” defined benefit plans come in numerous formulas. If you don’t like the formula then great. The position you have taken of “anything but our formula is not a defined benefit A plan” is factually incorrect as you can see by reading below.

Once again at this time it appears the company thinks you are not worth a substantially increased A plan regardless of formula.

Talk about missing the forest through the trees. Hey look squirrel!!!

Why does the company draft or allow AVA? Answer that.

You can make up your BLG in the view/add like everyone else. You choose selfishness and “helping out” over holding the line.

I have said it numerous times that im not caught up on the formula, but more concerned with the benefit. Hints the term “defined benefit plan”. So give me a flat dollar formula or whatever qualified formula with a 50% benefit and I could give a rats arse about the formula part.

Once again, flying my BLG is not helping out. It’s the same trip I would have pick up in the view add window. The only difference is it’s costing the company more for me the fly that exact trip. And as far as dividing the crew force, the union have been doing an amazing job at doing just that. If they want unity especially with enhancing the retirement plan, they need to first come clean on what exactly was proposed and they drop that POS pancake plan. Then the crew force wound rally with them to stand up to the company.

You still haven’t answered the question because you know the answer. It has nothing to do with “the union” and everything to do with your selfishness and self-centered attitude. Sadly we have a few in our ranks. Luckily, we have some pilots here that have a pair and are willing to stand up, not including you.

Your attitude and behavior has been the problem with this airline for the last 25 years. This “its all about me” attitude. Luckily we have a lot of new guys, able to show some of our old hats, what unity is really about. Hopefully the new crowd stands up and doesn’t have this same selfish attitude.

You are hilarious, how am I been selfish by flying BLG? I don’t fly extra, however if I’m able to get 150% for flying BLG that’s not helping the company. Funny you’re pointing fingers but you’re in favor of a pancake plan which in all calculation put all the risk on me. Where were you last contract when we held strong only to have a **** sandwich force down our throats. Like I said, I’ll fly my BLG and that’s not helping the company one bit.

Maybe it’s different perspective you are unable/unwilling to see. Say he has 25hrs for makeup due to CIC and there’s trip 123 on the 10th he can pick up for 25 hrs during view/add For 100% pay. He decides to wait. Open time is released and he gets the same trip 123 on the 10th at 150%. Per your argument he is helping the company. Per logic, I bet the company would rather not pay 150% for any flying.

We’ve all been wrong from time to time. I’ll happily admit when I am. It’s actually admirable when we admit we’re not perfect. Unfortunately, you are one of the few on APC that has never been wrong. Out of curiosity, how many perfect flights have you had? I’m guessing 4. Unfortunately, I’m a fat 0.
