We as a whole have got to get our crap together. Regional, mainline, cargo...who gives a s@#t. We have to do better!
After most, if not all mayor airline mergers there has been a mayor accident...DL + NW is no exception....there are just too many distractions...base closures, pay cuts, downgrades, procedural changes, consolidated computer systems, furloughs imminent, insurance changes..etc etc

You need to compartmentalize all of this stuff. All of the professionals I am flying with do that. In fact the merger is almost never discussed enroute.
Quote: Didn't learn this at flight school or at the airline:
Did learn this during my current unemployment:

1. Purchase a Starbucks card, load $5, and register it online.
2. Save your last "paid for" cup, or pick one out of the trash. Your discretion.
3. Refills are forever free after that. $0.52 cent charge becomes $0.00 when you present your registered Starbucks card to the cashier.
4. Lifespan of reused cup is 4-5 refills. When cup deteriorates and develops heavy leak, request new cup, pour contents of leaking cup into new cup, and begin cycle at step #2.

Discuss pros and cons to stay awake during long flights.

But hey, I'm living in a van and have time to kill on APC attempting to encourage total strangers to crack a smile....
I'm guessing this only work for coffee flavored coffee and not the fancy stuff?

Just brewed or iced coffee, and I don't think airport Starbucks participate (in ATL anyway).
Quote: Once again, we as pilots speculating on everything under the sun without knowing all the facts.
But they already admitted they screwed up......

Quote:
The Federal Aviation Administration says the crew told authorities they became distracted during a heated discussion over airline policy and lost track of where they were.
I'd say it's kinda case closed, unless things take a turn for the worst.

My view on things is: These things come in threes, watch your six tomorrow everyone

PS. Are you seriously living in a van? A) How are you on-line and B) are you no flying at all?

If you're not flying PM me your resume and lets at least get you a flying gig. Whatever we find might not be great but there's stuff out there.
Am I the only person who actually has guard up and listens to it?

I routinely hear stuff and react to it and the other pilots look at me like I'm crazy. Then I tell them what I heard and their first reaction is to turn up guard.
Anybody know if they commuted in that morning? If so, the "pre-flight crewrest" giant has just been awakened.

Nope.

1st leg on day 2 of 5day trip. Following Sked 19:02 layover.
