Quote: According to the DAL memo dated 15 Dec 2011, DAL will pay the taxes on the imputed value. It's the last paragraph. Maybe procrastinating has finally paid off.
Thanks for the info
..Nevermind
Quote: Gee, sure glad I wrote my Congressmen about that.

My thoughts exactly, Scambo. It seems they are so far ahead of us (and ALPA)...and I have no doubt they are already figuring out ways around the scope that we will probably (hopefully) negotiate in Contract 12.

Some back-slapping on VA Ave must be happening...

"Can you believe it, we even got some of those mainline pilots to write their Congressmen!"

"Yeah, we had ALPA totally snowed, they CONVINCED their pilots to do it!"

"Ha, ha, ha, it's amazing what they will do when you dangle a few mainline flights over their heads. What should we tackle next?"

"Well, we need to convince ALPA to convince the pilots that Age 70 and cabotage will be good for the company and good for the pilots."

"Alright, I'll call some friends. Let's make this happen!"
Quote: Yeah, those 42 used MD-90's Delta picked up showed that they're not interested in "used" airplanes. But note that since the 739 order we haven't gotten any additional -90's...

If jet fuel dropped to $20 bbl, I bet Anderson would be rebuilding the DC-9 fleet out of the desert. They're spending a boatload of money refurbishing 20+ year old whales and 7ER's with AVOD and flat-beds. Everything is a cost-benefit analysis. With RA's history, whatever produces the biggest return with the best (least) risk will get the nod for our fleet.
Slow, it seems like the biggest return with the least risk comes from DCI.
estimate for 2011 is 1.1 bill profit, 2010 was 1.4 so maybe our profit share checks will be close?
Quote: Have you forgotten, Delta has never and will never ever be interested in ever buying 717s.

All of the put two and two together stuff is just plain rumor mongering at it's worst and a dirty rotten lie by you clueless keyboard warriors. Delta doesn't buy used airplanes even at phenomenal prices, look around.

I mean the fact that the media openly writes about Delta taking SWA 717s, SWA pilots talk about there management talking about it openly in crew room visits, 4th floor types have gone to training on it, 4th floor types are saying the Board wants them, 20 used ones disappeared from the Boeing.com/preownedcertifiedused website the week we bought 100 739s, SWA has ordered a boat load of replacement 737s and says they don't want the 717s, and now that our mechanics may be getting training on it... none of that means Delta has the least bit of interest in them.

Remember, SWA was quite clear. They're not getting rid of the 717s... in 2011.

did the sarcasm come through Jug?
FTB - I'll say it...you were right! Heard the same rumor as I was going through MD-88 training in November. I'm sure the conversion training will be an at-home CBT...
Quote: Yep, it is "legal" under the regulations. Training is not 121 flying. Had it happen to me several times, I am familiar

Don't know if there is a defense under the PWA, but if you need the break you might be able to work something out with the training schedulers. I've heard they are good folks.

I'm trying...4 days of flying followed by 6 days of training on a different plane..I don't have enough Spongebob jammies!

Quote: Ok contract gurus...do I need a 24 hr break in 7 days going from trip to training?

Right now I have a 2 day trip followed by travel day and 5 days fo training...no break. Is that legal?

What I want to know is how you got training that was NOT scheduled immediately after vacation.

Delta Unveils Schedule for LGA
Can you say RJ city???

I remember some trying to say that a decent amount of our new flying out of LGA would be mainline, but most of us knew better.
