Quote: Recently we have been upgrading 26 people per month. For April that number is increasing to 28 as per the CA announcement we got this morning. Hopefully this keeps up!
Yep! They also have an FO base bid. I'm debating if I want to stay in DAY or move to CVG... I'm worried about cheap hotel space after the Clarion debacle.

There are enough hotels in Dayton where you can find a crew rate. The other hotel that new hires have been moved to (that shall remain nameless for security reasons) has a crew rate of $60ish a night. Once you're a line holder it's easier. If you want to stay at the Clarion, you can still do so. Just because the company no longer uses them doesn't mean you are restricted from staying there. I personally stayed there and found no issues with the place.

Quote: Not following you on the EAS comment. PSA doesn't do any EAS routes. If anything EAS going away would only serve to increase traffic at somewhere like CRW(CKB traffic would drive there).
Maybe not exactly EAS so I stand corrected on this one, but public airports receive federal funding of some kind and such funding is sensitive to the current powers that be in elected office. CRW's runway is literally falling off the hill and still no repairs being made

Yeager landslide News - Geotechpedia

If we decided to cancel service there tomorrow I would not shed a tear over it.

Hey everyone in the new thread! I'm currently in systems training and got the email about the potential FO awards for the class before me and my class. I know based off the chart that TF provided, CLT has a pretty long reserve time to hold a round 1 line, at least relative to DAY, DCA, and CVG. I will be commuting out of VPS. Originally, my idea was to 2 leg commute to one of those bases and then a round 1 line until I can hold round 1 in CLT for the one leg commute. So my question is this: With CLT having the most amount of spaces available for FOs by a decent margin, would it be better to shoot for CLT out of the gate for the one leg commute with the assumption that the time to get round 1 will be much shorter ooooorrrrr should I continue with my original plan?

I'm two legging it to get R1 at DAY until I can hold it in CLT. I don't want anything more to do with reserve.

Keep us posted. I live next door to VPS and will likely be following closely. PM sent

Cheers

Same here. A line for a commuter is essential. Commuting to reserve is a special kind of hell.

Might as well start adding the good stuff to the new "L&G' thread:

Bottom line: looks like new FOs can get any base out of training they like as long as they're willing to accept reserve in CLT and TYS for a little bit. Very quick in the other bases....

Here's hoping that DCA keeps growing fast.

How is a Jan 30 hire holding SCR? I'm a Jan 16 hire and our class is just now getting their first IOE trips.
