I can speak about Houston flying. I would say 75percent is domestic and the rest being deivided in Mexico and Caribbean. Usually at most two legs a day. 60 percent of my trips last about 3 days, the rest being day trips. Pic does flight planning, SIC cleans and stocks plane, normal for 135. I have only been called twice for a pickup trip or recovery for another plane, thats 2 hour ish call out. We pick hotels and have discreation where stay. Some will say there are limits for the hotels but if u stay a normal places and not 5 star hotels they usually never say anything. We eat whatever we want again not going crazy. They say daily limit is 50 bucks but if ur in a high priced area than it is what is, going to be more. I have never had a call about being too expensive on the road and i eat good things not junk. You get ur salary from day one and company card in indoc. All training meals, rental cars, hotels paid in training in your card. In indoc u go to omaha to company headquarters and get some company training. Comapny paid ipad and accessories, subscriptions. At indoc everyone at the headquarters gets together and has like a buffet to welcome you with food and drinks. U meet the CEO there and can sit down with him and talk. After that they fly you to your training with flight safety. Its completly different going trough the non 121 side. Everyone is their to help it was amazing how different it was. U can pick the hotel and rental car for the duration of your training.

That sounds like a really good operation to work for. I apologize for the continued questions. Just trying to get a feel for the company and that type of flying. How is the interview process. Is there anyone to email your resume to specifically? How far in advance do you know you have a trip. Do you have a weekly/monthly schedule where you know you will be flying. Also, what kind of benefits. 401, Health?

Interview process is very laid back usually a skype call with the chief pilot of the base you would be working for with a goal of getting to know you and making sure you are a good fit for the company. We use Arinc/FOS on the iPad so your schedule is always on there and u can refresh as much as you want to see what is coming up. I have been here for 5 years now and have flown on one of the busiest airplanes in the company and I would say most of the time you know well in advance of upcoming trips although there is occasional pop up trips which happen occasionally but not that much I would say 95% of the trips you will see coming up in advance on ur schedule. Depends on the airplane you are assigned but pretty much you submit which days off you want for the upcoming month by the 15th of the current month and they will review them and let you know when they are approved. When this happens that will be your hard days off which will be 8 days and you will have another approx 6 or so days at home on top of that where you are technically on standby but there are no trips. Could be more or less depending on the month and how busy company is. As for benefits we do have 401K it is 25% of first 6% of ur contribution that company will match I could be a little off on that but it is very close. We have Blue Cross Blue Sheild health insurance and it is 80/20 pretty good insurance for the most part and it costs me $208 per pay period which is every two weeks and cover me and my wife. Dental is MetLife and costs $9 every pay period same coverage... Vision is $4 every pay period and same coverage... lots of other options for long term and short term disability and all of that some is company covered for you but optional cost for your wife and yourself but not a huge deal.Company is currently going through a process with owners to review compensation and benefit levels with goal of increasing them across the board due to competitive market and more to come on that by end of the year. They might work with that I have seen them do it in the past if it is a good fit. What kind of type ratings do you have that would help to know if omaha would be interested when compared to their current open positions?

I would echo all the above, but might suggest the starting SIC pay is a little higher from what I've seen. 70-80, but that might be base and account dependent.

I'm on a Dallas mid-size, average 16 days worked per month with roughly 50 hours. I would say that my account is closer to 90% domestic, though we did get over a week in Ts&Cs in February.

My interview was very laid back, meet the Base CP, go to lunch to get a feel for you. Nothing technical at all, they are WAY more interested in personality (somehow I managed to get through).

Some trips are known months in advance (tends to be owner trips) others pop up same day and everything in between. Your days off get locked in by the 20th if the previous month.

401k isn't the best, 1.5% match on 6% contribution. Health insurance is decent. Company pays for Life Insurance, STD and LTD.

I agree I don't think you can commute but however if you live three hours away from a base they would be willing to work with you I believe. The only reason I say this is that I know at least 5 pilots at the company right now that are in this exact situation so it is definetley worth submitting your resume and seeing if it is a good fit for both parties because it is already being done.
