I just received an invite for a Jan interview. I have heard the the first day test is very tough and there is a high wash out rate day 1. With that being said, does anyone have a name or company that provides "Mock" interviews and practice and/or help for the test that is on day one? This has been my target job since day one and I don't want to screw this up! Any suggestions are appreciated and I'm excited for the Interview on Jan 8/9. Thank you

Starting cold searching for interview prep a month out is cutting it pretty close considering this is your “target”. I’d try Emerald Coast and RST. Hope they’re not booked up. Good luck.

Don't stress, that's plenty of time. Hit the RST test prep and Cog test hard and prep with Emerald Coast for the SBT. Everybody will be very welcoming and relaxed interview day. Look into hotels now to remove that stress. Good luck!

You have plenty of time, but you need to be proactive...as in- sign up for Emerald Coast Interview Consulting and ReadySetTakeoff YESTERDAY!!!

If you are worried about ECIC being booked up, give them a call first. I'm sure they would be able to find ample opportunities to get you prepped. You will want to do the following as a bare minimum:

1 in-person prep seminar
1 webinar
1 SBI practice webinar
1 top-off

As far as the cog and knowledge tests, follow RST's 15 day getting started checklist. If you just go through the material, keep practicing all of the tests (don't stress if your scores start dropping a bit the more you do the practice, that seems to happen a lot), you will do fine.

It sounds a bit daunting, but you can do it. Good luck!

Im going to play devils advocate here and suggest avoiding EC and all HR prep. Don't go into that interview having molded yourself into an EC poster child. Having recently interviewed I was surprised by the nature of the panel interview. First thing they said was to be yourself and throw all that EC stuff out the window. It was an enjoyable conversation. These interviewers are getting tired of canned responses and the same stories garnered from a HR prep service. If you have some stories from your career and are a decent speaker you'd do just fine.

Under no circumstances listen to this post! You would do yourself and incredible disservice by not doing Emerald Coast and RST! I'm sure plenty of people get their dream job by just winging it but do you really want a better career on that? I don't know much about rst but Emerald Coast is the Double Platinum of the interview preps. In no way do they tell you what to say but what they do is give you the confidence to go forward and do your best. Emerald Coast does not believe in canned responses and they would be crazy to even contemplate that. Good luck and I have certainly enjoyed my last 15 years here.

I disagree. Having some prep will make you more comfortable and I'm sure you are smart enough not to blurt out canned EC answers but tailor the prep for you.

Also, the interviewers may claim they don't like prep but in some respects it shows you are serious about the job. Much like a sim when you show a bit gouged up. If you don't appear to have the gouge it leaves the instructor wondering a: why doesn't this guy have the gouge or b: does he have the gouge and didn't even bother to look at it.

So I'd recommend at least enough prep that you are comfortable and the process doesn't surprise you.
