The irony that our annual fatigue training is more fatiguing then actually working....
I’m pretty new here to Compass. What I love about this company are the crews. Everyone here is in to get their time and move on while having a good time. I left aviation and came back from another regional. Have a furlough under my belt too! My previous regional had several lifers who were just grumpy and not a joy to fly with. I’m not putting my head in the sand but the reality is that none of know what will happen until it’s announced. Who could’ve predicted United buying back Expressjet or the other crazy changes? The airline industry is always changing. The best bet is to have a solid attitude, build time, make great friends, figure out who’s got the best queso and set an example of what a professional pilot looks like. You never know what tomorrow holds. The great thing about the industry right now is that everyone is hiring. I love seeing our attrition numbers and knowing fellow aviators are moving up.
Don't know how, but CP needs to address this. Who knows what will actually happen, but the not knowing is getting to people. Have heard concerns from multiple FAs about jumping ship. Is it real? Who knows. But the concern is real. Me, I'm gonna ride it out.
I mean, I'm trying to get out but a lateral move makes no sense, and there are still plenty of reasons to be here. Yes, there's a video - he never says Compass, and maybe that was intentional. He also says "about 3" regionals. Also, plans change CONSTANTLY in this industry. It could simply be a negotiating tactic because they're probably currently negotiating with Compass/Hulas about a purchase, resigning the CPA, etc. Who leaked the video? AA could swoop in and buy us. Republic could buy us and maybe that's what he means.... you all were very convinced a few months ago.
Basically, the less you pay attention to the rumors, the happier you are. I don't think keeping up your situational awareness is a bad idea, but being chicken little is silly particularly in this hiring market, they barely have E175 sim space, so the thought of us being instantly replaced is a little ridiculous, and last minute offers saved both Air Whisky and Expressjet and it's hard to imagine the same wouldn't come through for Compass.
We are the cheapest E175 operator next to maybe Mesa and I believe we are actually cheaper on a block hour basis.

Nonsense! I hear a rumor there's a Chipotle in SLC, now I only have have to find it. Like Santa Claus, I choose to believe.
It'll be better for the industry when tsh is gone anyway.
I dunno...everyone is all up in arms over some grainy poor audio quality video that may or may not have taken place this fall..not throwing on the tin foil hat yet,but things aren’t always what they seem. As for CPZ actually addressing the rumors there’s probably not a lot they can say because of non disclosure agreements and a bunch of other legal mumbo jumbo. There is no way YX 9E or OO can take on 36 planes at once, like someone said 175 sim time is at a premium,CRJ sims are a dime a dozen, hell local arcades probably have them now. If anything they will probably give a 2 year contract extension with a drawdown at the end of year two. Most of us working at CP should all be gone by then anyway.

Why would it have to happen all at once? Did Compass take them all at once? Likely not. FYI, YX has about 380 new hires in the training pipeline right now. With the current flying we don’t need 90% of them.

First of CRJ sim time is just as a commodity as ERJ time right now.. Compass biggest hurdle will be, being owned by TSA holdings and them dealing with possible GoJet issues at the same time... so any deal with selling just Compass is complicated with that.. That plan Ed stated has been said before.. not just that meeting..
Cpz sold to Republic fall of 2019, stamp it!
