Compass Updates 2: Revenge of the Sit
#1361
First of CRJ sim time is just as a commodity as ERJ time right now.. Compass biggest hurdle will be, being owned by TSA holdings and them dealing with possible GoJet issues at the same time... so any deal with selling just Compass is complicated with that.. That plan Ed stated has been said before.. not just that meeting..
Holding up a deal over Delta snack baskets, though... that'd be some smart negotiating, amirite?

What would Republic get?? Without a renegotiated deal with Delta/AA you take on a airline that’s contract to fly for is up.. there are no assets..??.. just people and snack baskets apparently.. Doesn’t sound like Delta wants to deal. They want less RJ’s more mainline narrow bodies...

There will never be less rjs, just less carries operating than. There in no way DL would park our birds. They would just give them to another carrier.

This appears to be a high level game of chicken the exact terms of which we are not privy to. As it gets down to the nitty gritty, the decision will ultimately be Deltas because they own the birds, and if 35 birds go away the primary assets that Hulas has - the pilots, maintenance, training and and support facilities threaten to become an expensive liability rather than an asset. But the cost of letting all the airframes sit idle while those assets are reconstituted by someone else - and the expense of reconstituting them - is not trivial either, not even to someone with the capital of Delta.
Ultimately I think someone is going to win the game of chicken, and the other party will blink first. But until each side gets edgy enough about losing money to start dealing seriously, the game of chicken will continue.
But given the long lead time necessary to prep for anything but a simple contract extension, both TSH and Delta management are - I'm sure - already talking.

The problem was Delta got stuck with having to bail out RAH to keep their east coast slots. RAH was the one they originally planned to cut loose.
Endeavor has hired enough staff to take on the GoJet flying. With the state of their aircraft, I don't know if it is worth the cost shifting those birds.

When did management say anything about this? The only info I ever heard was from that sketchy $200 a year aviation news site.

I spent a lot of time in Building C this summer. Feel free to PM me for more info. It was real and it could happen again is all I’m saying. Especially now that HK sees his days are numbered.

Option 1: CP folds into RP.
or
Option 2: CP-DL goes to 9E (operated initially separate) & CP-AA goes to MQ (without the crews). Majority of crews offered continued employment with 9E, rest are furloughed and MQ offers preferential hire to CP crews.
