Quote: Who knows since we’re not under CBA or under anything kind of MOU how that works. They could go and call it Force Majure. I believe even delta is dealing with that as far as money’s owed to furloughees
Here we go again.... Instead of demanding your money from them, you find and post a reason for them NOT to pay us. Wow.
But wait, there is a guy on here with the handle DavidSpeaks, perhaps you've already cut your private deal with him. Absolutely amazing.

Alright well go demand yours and let me know how that at will employment works.

What is this "demand" you speak of?

Did they not Demand we fly COVID19 infected ICE flights, Did they not demand that flight through DC airspace at 8000', did they not demand you fly that broke airplane with the same critical item written up 6 times. Well, we have a right to make demands as well. You can keep capitulating, or you can ground it when / where it lands. You got it right, we do need representation, but then those who don't make demands, get nothing.

So, if MX signs their name saying a plane is airworthy, you're going to say they're wrong and refuse to fly?

Do you have an ASAP program? If not, do an Air21 report or a Whistleblower report if you think the regulations are being violated. It's obviously not serious enough or you'd have already filed those reports yourself, right?

I / We have done all of the above. ASAP's, Safely Reports to Dir. Safely, and yes even dropped several Dimes to the hotline. Several mechanics got in a lot of problems, and the company threw them under the bus.
The alternative to the MX pencil whip, is to bring it back to the gate, or write it up upon landing where ever that is. What you don't understand about Swift, is that loyalty goes only in one direction. A few posts back, Mexi mentioned that they are finally getting rid of some of the people that caused the company to get so many fines, but the culture in the Executive Suite remains the same.

Flying with COVID you’re going to get that anywhere, whether it’s delta or American. If you don’t feel safe, unfortunately all you can do is lock yourself out, which means go on long term leave or honestly in this job it would be hard to stay doing it if you were worried about infection every day. Even cargo you’ll have human interaction whether it’s with agents or your fellow pilots. We all have to pay bills and put food on the table, at least that’s my case, I knew the consequences when I took this career, just like I took the risk when I was a soldier.

COViD is invisible, so unless you tested or actually got sick which is the lower chance, you’ll never know. Not to mention how information is messed up everyday via the govt, media or politics. It’s not IF you get COVID it’ll be when!

Wash your hands, don’t make out with strangers. We can’t live in a world of fear otherwise you won’t be able to function in this job. Whether it’s Corona, weather, act of god etc, everything has inherent risk..... it’s life.... the human condition. You could be killed walking across the parking lot to work or if you’re immune deficient catch COVID at McDs and die in the hospital.

Thanks for the advise, and life lessons. But you are changing the subject. All of us have bills to pay. However, I am adamant on my position that they owe us our longevity bonus. $4000 in my case. Definitely helps with the bills. Some of our Crewmems did catch COVID19, and racked up enormous hospital cost. But as you put it, the 15 million dollar house in Miami recently purched by one of our executives, will be spotlighted on the next CRIBS. He can afford it, but can't afford to pay us what was promised. Trust me, when I tell you, you are not respected for you work, nor your blind loyalty. Its raining, but if does not smell like rain, it looks yellow, doesn't taste like rain water, there is a something wrong.

As far as Mx items which are penciled whipped??? If cleared... write “REPEAT ITEM” every time the item is Inop. I take a picture to insure that there is on disappearing ink on the TECH LOG Page. Comes in handy when the original page is presented with a bunch of scratches and wired initials.
