Quote: You miss the point. If you are fine with having to fatigue to eat, I don't know what to tell you. Fatigue calls are for fatigue, not to eat.
I would also argue that you shouldn't have to fatigue because your schedule is too intense. Fatiguing should be a result of having an external factor effect your ability to fly, not the flying/schedule its self. You shouldn't have to fatigue to feel like a human being, or to eat, or to get a normal amount of time off during a tour.

Excellent point. A fatigue call should be a last resort, one-off. Not a routine defense mechanism against ridiculous scheduling.

Quote: Well I’ll tell you from experience, having to tell the guy with 4 bars not to takeoff on a taxiway 4 times before he even understood what was going on, sucks. Being paid less than half of what those dinosaurs make, and having to be responsible over them without them even knowing, was not sustainable for the 15 years it would take to upgrade. Certainly flew with amazing people but the concentration of oddballs and pilots who should have their wings clipped was higher at NJA than I’ve ever seen. Although I suppose that’s 135...

I have yet, in 2 years at my airline, to fly with somebody that shouldn’t be in that seat. Where at NJA probably 2 out of 10 captains shouldn’t have been captains.

Few things in the airline world are arbitrary. 117 is a great example of that. 65 didn’t come out of thin air, and 67 is certainly something I expect to see in my future.

NJA is a large holdout of guys who were in financial ruin and some wont ever recover. It’s not surprising that they are fighting the hardest for no retirement, their only option is to work until they die because they didn’t plan.

Good point, hoping the 135 rest rules and possible retirement age working its way across capitol hill can address some of this stuff. I was pretty shocked to see three 65 year old retired American pilots in my interview class, only one got hired.

Quote: This is the root problem I think with NetJets pilots. It’s the attitude that most pilots here will settle for less so they will always be behind in terms of the going rate for an ATP rated pilot. It’s truly sad because NetJets pilots deserve better and so much more. It’s a unique job and it demands better pay due to the quirks of the business. We wish you guys and gals all the best.
I don’t think that anyone is “settling” at NetJets.

That’s why wages alone have increased literally tenfold in a period of 13 years.

The majors have literally decades upon decades of collective bargaining products in their contracts.

NJA pilots... 13 years.

Let that sink in for a minute.

It’s only possible to add so much value to a CBA at a time before one actually does risk choking the revenue.

More like thirty years of representation. Longer than companies like Jetblue and Spirit have been in existence. Ten year contracts don't help either.

How many contracts have JetBlue and Frontier had? Hell, Frontier hasn’t even moved past an AIP yet. Let that sink in. JB has such a phenomenal first CBA with pretty darn good overall language.

The wages have increased twice in 13 years, right? 2015 and 2018 (TBT). They certainly didn’t increase during the large furlough. Where are you getting “10 fold” from?

And be real, if you hadn’t been furloughed from the airlines you wouldn’t even know who NJA was.

Every time the pilot group votes an extension for a couple increases in a section or two, the rest of the contract falls completely behind. The nuts and bolts of the 2015 CBA will be 10 years behind where it should be, hell lots of the language should have been fixed long ago.

13 years ago was 2005. So, the 2005 contract, the 2007 contract, the 2015 contract, and now the 2018 contract.

Question: are the incoming Longitudes basically replacing outgoing Xs and Sovereigns? Will there be any net new seats with the Longitudes? I guess that partly depends on executed order numbers too for Netjets USA vs Netjets Europe.

Friend said he saw a Longitude in the Netjets hanger recently. Impressive airplane.

Hopefully it turns out to be more reliable than the Latitude. Nice airplane but it has a break rate almost as bad as some of the legacy fleets.

As for the fleet “plan,” what is today, Saturday? It will change three times before next Saturday.

I forgot about 07. Didn't count 05 but I suppose by date year you are correct.
