GoJet doesn't own those birds. Delta does.

And I'd bet Delta would cut them up before they sell them to someone to fly for a competitor. Much like UPS did with the DC8's

Not sure where the delta flying would be going. A buddy just told me that out of the 11 people in his class, 8 are going to DTW right off the bat.

I wouldn’t put much weight on that. I believe the Delta contract extension goes to next September. Still have to keep them staffed until something is announced

That's a classic TS Holdings move. Place new hires in bases as they are closing, hire right into a furlough, etc. They'll stay in DTW as long as there is flying that need to be staffed. Flying doesn't go away over night... it takes a few months usually.

G7 is not ALPA. However, some impending loss of flying at one of the TSH carriers and an impending merger of sorts would certainly explain the nonchalant attitude at headquarters about TSA's staffing issues. We were losing pilots like crazy, and management was pretty much saying all of the staffing issues would be solved in a few months, like pilots would suddenly materialize out of nothing.

A potential G7 and TSA merger would be messy to say the least. As long as other regionals/ LCCs/ACMEs are hiring like crazy, I can guarantee if Holdings tries to screw over the TSA pilot group a majority will jump ship from any Hulas ran company. Just look how many pulled the ejection seat when the east coast bases closed. It remains to be seen if the G7 pilots would do the same, but I know the Koolaid is pretty watered down on the TSA side of the house.

Why would Delta place Jets that they own at AA?

skw owns all but 2 of their DL 700s ( 2 comair birds) when they come off contract with DL, skywest can do whatever they want with them

You do not understand how seniority lists are governed and controlled. Unions do not own or control the seniority lists. Management controls the seniority list and decides who to hire and fire. A union legally can exert limited control over the seniority list via the scope section with a requirement to merge seniority lists if their parent airline purchases another airline and they have negotiated such a provision in the contract.
Unions can’t however simply decide they are going to merge lists with another airline. The RLA requires transportation unions to be separate entities that can’t collude with each other. That is the reason ALPA is a association not a union. They provide support and services but each airline is a individual union even if under the ALPA umbrella.
