Congratulations, and welcome aboard.
Your job during your training footprint in MIA is to pass your type ride. That should be you only focus. Successfully completing training isn't assured. I say that not to intimidate you, but to encourage you to take it seriously. And importantly, remember to have at least one day a week where you relax and decompress. Look forward to seeing you out on the line.

Thx guys. 767 is what I was hoping for. No illusions that it won’t be hard work and look forward to learning the jet from the veterans on the line. How often do you get line awarded split trips on the 76? I assume lines are awarded right out of OE since Reserve goes senior?

Split lines Are not uncommon. Just keep in mind that most of the lines on the 767 will only pay around 60 hours or so, and possibly less. So budget accordingly. Training lay is $1,600 per month until completing OE, or 4 months on property, whichever is sooner. First year guarantee is 50 hours per month.

congrats! Most Airlines reserve is a bad word- it’s a way of life here. New lingo to learn:

Everyone has a line
It’s a pattern, not a trip.
limo, DH to operate, operate.
commercial DH.

Don’t you worry- you will have split lines to El Paso and BWI all nighters before you know it!

Congrats- and tell Martha at the Latin cafe coffee window- Kramer sent you.

Quote: If there is anybody on this board who could give me some advice. I had canceled a class date In early Dec and it was accepted. Later I ask to reschedule in Jan she said she would get back to me. I never heard anything else and I took a temp job. I decided to write them in March to see if they had a class avail and they said I no showed for Jan . Long story short they emailed me to a old email account which I had lost the password. The last time I emailed them was with the new email and I expected them to respond to the same. The HR lady didn’t want to admit to the error and just told me to reapply. I reapply just to receive a a rejection email. Is their anybody I can talk to I don’t think this is fair. I’ve tried to explain to her many times I think a little effort would show I never received the emails they sent. Thanks in advance
So how are you making your problem into their problem?
They send you an email to an email adress you provided and you never replied.

Good morning all. From what I was told

-737 upgrades for people hired in 2019 are still running about a year
-merged seniority lists will involve "fences" so people hired which will protect upgrades for pilots more on the southern side of things, but will prevent southern pilots who are senior enough after the lists come out from taking upgrades from Atlas FO's. Probably be a good way not to **** off people who came here before the **** hit the fan for the quick upgrade.
-word is 400's are still going away in August, but not to Mesa. Swift Air maybe?
-I have heard the although the company has not publicly stated the following... with the other airlines significantly downsizing in the pax world ( who do carry freight), and lots of 737, 767's taken out of service they will become cheap to acquire. Combine this with Atlas/southern's ability to now fill classes, you are probably going to see a lot of growth in the next couple years, and lots of quick upgrades. Just my take.

Um... who exactly told you all this?

You do realize that there is an overwhelming possibility that we are about to enter into another global recession, if not depression, right? I’m not trying to be a downer, but this sounds like sh*t that would come from a recruiter, and it gets really tiring hearing the lies that they are constantly telling new guys to try to get them in the door.

No. We are not “probably” going to see “a lot of growth” in the next couple of years. And no, there aren’t going to be “Lots of quick upgrades”. The C-Suite stated that their were no plans for growth in the foreseeable future, and that was before the world economy went to hell in a hand basket.

I’m not trying to **** on your parade, but we all need to understand that the entire landscape for aviation has changed dramatically. The music has stopped. Just hope that you have a chair to sit in, and don’t expect that it’s going to be a captains chair in 12 months.
