It's like any other job you've had.
I agree but don't assume the pilot I'm referring to was running his mouth either, as he was not.

I was trying to say that this is basically a normal job with ups, downs, good and bad. My point about keeping one's head down was for people thinking of coming here.

I was not talking about your friend. I don't know about his situation. He could well have been handed a raw deal.

Glad you spoke up about this. I don't want to throw shade where it isn't intended.

As long as this fellow aviator had no training issues and the stunts his partner pulled didn’t get him a police record career wise he will be fine. I’m sure there will be a Chief Pilot out their who can see past him choosing the wrong woman.

I don't know his situation. Sounds sensitive enough that I wouldn't want to hear about his details online. If he's prepared to talk about whatever he has going on he may as well apply.

What's the worst that happens? Just keep expectations realistic. We have 13k applications on file right now.

Perhaps, but Hall is a good guy right?, then perhaps he can help this guy out, he and Turner have the ability to help if they want to. If anyone of us had this nightmare happen, what would you hope for? Covid is definitely unlike anything we have experienced in our lives or career, and I think these are times we need exceptions to the norma rules and to help pilots like him, not ignore. The pilot group should push to have him reinstated or at the min rehired and then give him a little bit of time to make sure his mental health is ok, kids are safe and he can move forward. I have flown with pilots who have went through extremely tough times, mentally, physically, divorce and all safely made it back to the flight deck and had a productive career but it would not have happened without the support of other pilots and even management. I urge all the Atlas and Southern pilots to unite behind him.

If it happens to you, call 911 immediately. You can get help for the SO, and eventually get her back with the kids but if you don't make the call it can easily turn into the man gets the blame, which will be Game Over for an airline pilot. The system is spring-loaded to blame you, not her. I know a guy who got saved only because his six-year old daughter was very mature, made a very credible witness, and somehow managed to make the right choice and tell the truth in a very tough spot. BTW the cops and DA tuned out the daughter's testimony, they took the easy SOP: blame the dude. It got sorted out in court, and took months. All would have been avoided if he had made the call immediately.
Just reading between the lines here but in many jurisdictions not reporting child abuse is a felony .Seeking help doesn't count .

I'm not sure of the law in their state is, All I know is the kids were protected by the pilot involved and there was no harm done, or attempts towards the kids,

Starting new hire training soon and trying to get more information on what to bring.

I've heard the dress code is business casual; any need to bring anything more formal like a suit and tie?

Business casual is correct. I believe they allow jeans and a polo on the weekend, can’t remember. Bring a suit and tie for your type ride.

I mean some might think a t-shirt tuxedo is business casual. Business in the front, party in the back. The mullet of business casual.

don’t forget your spurs.
