It's easy to criticize those of us who stayed, but suppose you left last fall or this spring? You would be sitting very junior and rightfully very worried. None of us saw corona coming and what it would do to the whole industry. We all figured if we stayed at compass and got furloughed, we'd all have a place to go. Well now there's no place to go, and one would only be marginally better off being junior at a major.. So what's your point? We got played? Ok, whatever you say dude.
Staying was a calculated risk based on what we all knew before corona. I think furloughs will hit many more people. Pretty lame to come on our boards and imply we were dumb for staying. I had reasons to stay and had back up plans in place.. Welp.. None of those assumptions apply now. If I had gone to the first place that called, I doubt I would have been better off. Many of those who left compass right away are all sitting pretty nervous right now. I hope they all make it through without a furlough.
Right now it's all about celebrating what a tight knit, awesome pilot group we had, all the memories we made together, and what it means to have been privileged enough to be part of a special fraternity of pilots, flight attendants, and mechanics who were here from 2014-2020.
