Does Republic use their own instructors in the sim or is it a flight safety, L3 or whoever the company that is running the sim instructor? How are the pass rates overall?

I saw that the flat panel screen trainers are done by Republic instructors. TIA
just finished training, all instructors are Republic employees.

I'm not sure on pass rates, but random numbers I have heard from different instructors indicates they are better than 90%.

The only time you will see contract instructors will be if you do not attend the in-house ATP-CTP course.

That pass rate is consistent with what I've seen as well, based on class sizes and monthly resignation data collected by the union. Looks like four resigned in training (not listed as leaving to a different job) in January corresponding to a period that saw a little over 50 pilots hired.

Hi all - I have my class date coming up within the next few weeks and was wondering when we could expect to receive our badges. I hear that the badge is basically the last thing required to hop on a jumpseat and do some observing and I was wondering if that would be possible to do during the weekend during at-home ETHOS.

Thank you! I look forward to joining the pilot group.

You’ll get your badge after you come back for Systems. They don’t give them out during Indoc specifically because people were out jumpseating when they should be studying systems. It seems harsh but you’ll understand the wisdom of this once you start ETHOS.

Which is earlier than some companies give out cass/kcm. Some wait until you pass the training entirely.

Prospective Republic Pilot
As a Republic pilot would I be able to fly for every major partner or would I be assigned to one specifically?

Depends on a lot of things. You will be awarded pairings on a single codeshare, but you can get reassigned during an IROP, for example, that might support another codeshare. Some bases only support flying for 1 codeshare. MIA is only AA flying, for instance. There can be some small procedural differences between each codeshare, but for practical purposes, as pilots, there's very little difference in day to day ops.

Edit: ahh if the intent was to ask if we do a Skywest and only fly for 1 codeshare, that's a no.

You are not assigned to one.

From when I was at OO, skywest flying is set up similar to how you describe RAH, but certain bases had certain non rev benefits. I flew for all 3 codeshare partners in a month on numerous occasions. Even all 3 once in 24 hrs.

As JJ and BT already said, you are not assigned to a single codeshare. I was initially assigned to LGA, on reserve, I flew for all 3 every month, Delta and AA out of LGA and occasionally United out of EWR.

Now I do all United out of EWR (my base) but I pick up (on rare occasion) AA trips out of PHL from trades or open time.
