The expected worst case I have heard of leaves us with a 2,600 seniority list. With retirements and leaves that would probably require just less then 200 downgrades and 200 furloughs. I have actually heard a lot of noise about growing through this but these decisions will not be made for 4-5 months. Our MEC President is the right guy to protect the junior of our company, he will try almost everything to prevent even one pilot furlough, this I guarantee.

Sounds like wishful thinking to me. I seem to remember seeing that demand had dropped by well over 50%.

On the bright side... guess we’re finally gonna get a fleet plan. 😂

They can’t possibly furlough half the pilot group, and then expect to get the wheels turning again quickly. They’ll have to carry some fat, even if furloughs come to fruition.

Anyhow, I'm not trying to alarm anybody. This ain't my first rodeo and I've been around the block a time or two. To the best of my memory, every airline BK in America has led to a loss or drastic cutting of the pilot's pension. This lifelong experience led me to believe that no further research was required. If I am wrong, then please share the details so as to better educate our pilots group (since we are basically the last with an intact pension).
American and NWA kept all employee pensions in bankruptcy. Delta kept all pensions except the pilots. The pilot fund was at a 20% funding level. Delta however provided a 650 million dollar note as well as a 2.1 billion ownership stake in the company to the pilots.

Base calls changed from tomorrow to Friday. That can only mean some major news coming out either Wednesday or Thursday.
