Flattening the curve isn't going to pay bills and put food on the table for millions of Americans.

You're correct.... Which is why our leaders signed off on the $2T/6T bailout package..

It won't magically solve everybody's financial issues, but it's a recognition that shutting down the country has put a hurt on all of us.

Ironically, I think most of us pilots will fall in the income bracket that precludes us from getting any of that manna from heaven.

But it may keep tens of thousands of us Americans alive. Maybe you are in the "old people are willing to die for the economy camp" I heard about on the news, but that puts you in an extreme minority.

Where did I every say that? I said staying cooped up inside with no work isn't going to pay bills or put food on the table. I didn't say anything about old people. Stop making your own conclusions on the sentence I wrote.

This is very short term help. Like $2000-3000 for a family of 4? That doesn't even pay one month rent in the big coastal cities with the highest breakout of Coronavirus cases.

I think the airline-specific grants are for payroll, and there are limits on paycuts/furlough. You may not be getting full pay, but you might get a reduced guarantee and a lot of time off for six months. Then we'll have to see what happens after that.

Correct... I was speaking specifically about the money that will be sent directly to individuals and families. I should have qualified the statement by mentioning that.

Quote me in context Shy.

If you quote both paragraphs, instead of only the one you did, it'll be clear that like you, I understand that it won't be enough. I guess the difference is that I also recognize that something is better than nothing.

Time for everyone to get a hobby. APC ain’t gonna cut it. I’m thinking of throwing my weight behind drinking. That’s something you can do alone and I saw many places will deliver.

That sounds a lot like you implying that getting everyone back to work and getting the economy fired up is more important than flattening the curve and keeping people out of the hospital. I am the one who mentioned old people, because they will pay the highest burden for following that course of action. I was referring to an interview I saw with a lawmaker stating that he was ready to risk oassume thef death to get the economy going faster, and implying that old people should be too.

I don't know about any of that. I'll leave that for the politicians and health professionals.

All I'm saying is shutting down everything and staying home is not going to be a tenable situation for anyone for a long period of time. It certainly can't be the case until a vaccine comes (12 months or more).
