Quote: The standing bid was for 2 CA/ 6 FO. I saw the numbers change in PBS for this bid period. They took 3 out of Dallas I’m guessing. I could be wrong. Standing bid Notice came out but wasn’t revealed who got it.
Pilots awarded training are not removed from PBS.

Yes the initial cadre is all check airmen. The standing bid was for the line folks that will take over after the proving runs are complete.

so... they do line checks on each other?? Isn’t that the blind leading the blind since they’re all new to the 737??

will they have positions for CRJ and e-jet check airmen since they’ve lost so many to the 737??

No, they went through training at PanAm; during the certification process there are procedures to integrate to carrier specs and time frames for conformity. Also, no, because once the proving runs are done these guys are going to go back to what they were doing. Also, when certifying new aircraft, there is an exception for green-on-green, if that is what you are wondering.

They aren’t going back to what they were doing. They are getting a premium as initial cadre for a few years.

Yup, it’s almost like the FAA has procedures for introducing new aircraft to fleets. How on earth did this guy think any airline brings a new airplane on?
