various execs have, for at least the last couple of years expressed a preference for day trips. It has the potential to cut costs significantly. Hotels especially.
the company holds it cards close. It’s not to make our lives harder; we’re in a competitive environment.
a day trip airline like Allegiant or EasyJet requires many more bases than we currently have, and there’s not much chatter of that at present.
the line construction is a result of current demand. They’re trying to make money in an environment that’s a shadow of last year. In fact; I’m my base there are 3 & 4 day trips showing for February, there were none this month.
PBS allows us to turn 3 two day trips into a six day, albeit overnighting in base more than commuters would like.
QoL isn’t a secret. Live in base. I recognize that’s easy to say, but it’s how most people in most industries work.
we’re lucky to have the option to live elsewhere.
by the 3rd or 4th quarter things will have largely normalized; and if the projections prove out; the recovery will be robust.
in the meant time; we just have to keep rolling with the punches. Everyone has been doing a great job in difficult circumstances, and most of us can see the light on the other side...
