The Future is Day Turns

You sure are beating the merger drum loudly. We aren’t supposed to tell you, but in F9 ground school they’ve been telling us Allegiant is being spun-off. Your management would rather build resorts and name grass inside empty stadiums. Don’t shoot the messenger but ALPA merger policy will not apply...we will let you keep the stapler when we are done.
In all seriousness though, imitation is a form of flattery so you guys must be doing something right.

We have redeye turns out of LAS now. If I recall, ATW, RFD, and SBN.

Day trips AND the downsizing of Denver has, as you said, been talked about for a couple of years now. I fully understand the disappointment and irritation about all of this from people with some time on property. However, it may sound bad of me to say, but anyone hired in the past two years have little room to complain. Recent hires whining up a storm was rampant on the FB group a short time back. If you were hired in the last couple of years you either: A) Didn’t do your homework and/or ask the right questions before coming here. Or: B) Knew what was likely coming down the pipe and came here anyway.
This whole day turn thing is a result of Covid.Im a five year guy and never heard anything about day turns until last year.

Downsizing Denver certainly has been talked about for a couple of years. But going to day turns?? Nobody was talking about that pre Covid. All I ever heard was more utilization and the never ending talk about why our performance numbers were so bad.

This is a silly question. Currently, yes. Just like every other airline, if you’re at the bottom of the list you’re there to stay until something changes. Pre-COVID though, no...the only “forever” reserve was/still is as a CA in Denver. But to be fair it was unlikely that a new hire would ever even be awarded a CA spot in Denver.

That's the conundrum of being in Denver.

That’s alright, better than being a regional CA at the whim of the legacies. Thanks for the insight.

MIA is different but it hasn't had a chance to expand since covid hit. International, small base etc.
If you live in DEN your QOL on reserve will be at least as good as Regional lineholder based on my experience. First and second year pay are 60/112 with far less headache. Don't listen to the airframe expectations however... these guys return airframes as soon as they can everytime. I think we should have about 145+ right now based on managements estimates when I was hired almost 6 years ago.
Good luck either way!
