After this past year it’s difficult to trust anyone’s massive growth plans...
On the other hand my legacy CJO is gathering a lot of dust. A lot.

Wait, I’m confused. How many gates do we have right now in Denver? We have more than 8? I was under the impression that we would add 14 additional gates in Denver? Sorry, I’m a little slow apparently. Lol

I believe that we currently have 8 gates. Biffle said they were in negotiations to get 14 gates. So I'm sure that means we would add 6 new gates.. 14 total. No way are we adding 14 to the 8 we already have. That would be big boy airline stuff.

I had no idea how many we had. Seems like we have a lot more than 8 when your walking through the A concourse.

Downsizing Denver certainly has been talked about for a couple of years. But going to day turns?? Nobody was talking about that pre Covid. All I ever heard was more utilization and the never ending talk about why our performance numbers were so bad.
This whole day turn thing is a result of Covid.Im a five year guy and never heard anything about day turns until last year.

I had a management type come into my recurrent class before anyone knew what covid was saying that the long-term vision for F9 was many bases doing turn lines only. I don’t like it but it’s not a new concept. I expect we’ll continue to add 2-3 bases a year for a while and continue to phase out the multi-day trips.

BL has been saying that in recurrent ground for years. He said they like the allegiant style turn model, it helps minimizes system delays and reduces hotel costs. I don’t think anyone ever really believed him until covid happened and shifted everything a lot more rapidly than we imagined

Same here. You can’t do many East-West routes with the same crew and be 117 legal. North-South is another story. Would be a waste of XLR’s.

I agree, red eyes are a huge part of the pre-covid model and I don’t imagine they’ll just go away. They’re going to need layovers to support a red eye heavy route structure. Like I said, BL has mentioned in several of my RGS’s that he likes the allegiant day trip model, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be any 2-3-4 day trips in the future.
However, with 3 bases in FL now and the close proximity of the other east coast bases, I think we will see more of a shift to shorter trips (1-2 days as majority) if they keep up opening bases everywhere. Just my 2cents
