In all seriousness though, imitation is a form of flattery so you guys must be doing something right.
Haha good one!

We have redeye turns out of LAS now. If I recall, ATW, RFD, and SBN.

Downsizing Denver certainly has been talked about for a couple of years. But going to day turns?? Nobody was talking about that pre Covid. All I ever heard was more utilization and the never ending talk about why our performance numbers were so bad.

This whole day turn thing is a result of Covid.Im a five year guy and never heard anything about day turns until last year.

Is it years to get off reserve in Denver as an FO?

This is a silly question. Currently, yes. Just like every other airline, if you’re at the bottom of the list you’re there to stay until something changes. Pre-COVID though, no...the only “forever” reserve was/still is as a CA in Denver. But to be fair it was unlikely that a new hire would ever even be awarded a CA spot in Denver.

I guess I was speaking more pre Covid. I live in Denver, and someday would be happy to move on to somewhere like Frontier. I know the past is no guarantee of the future however.

Denver FO is definitely attainable and when times are better, you'll definitely move up. Life as a Denver FO is good. The problem is upgrade in Denver. Plan on 15+ years for that. Or more.

That's the conundrum of being in Denver.

That’s alright, better than being a regional CA at the whim of the legacies. Thanks for the insight.

This circadian rhythm killing 3-day is in DEN open time as we speak (two of them, actually.)

MO 18 DEN-MCO 0009-0556

MO 18 MCO-DEN 2055-2306
TUE 19 DEN-MCO 0009-0556

TUE 19 MCO-DEN 2055-2306

These really hurt.

Way too much drama about F9 going to day trips. I was just looking at Feb DEN flying and saw this is the listed pairings.
1 day 313 total
2 day 291
3 day 188
4 day 10
MIA is different but it hasn't had a chance to expand since covid hit. International, small base etc.

If you live in DEN your QOL on reserve will be at least as good as Regional lineholder based on my experience. First and second year pay are 60/112 with far less headache. Don't listen to the airframe expectations however... these guys return airframes as soon as they can everytime. I think we should have about 145+ right now based on managements estimates when I was hired almost 6 years ago.

Good luck either way!

Four days make up 85% of our pairings where I work now. Being able to shorter trips and not deal with all of the issues that flying into Devils Lake present sounds quite nice.
