They only have the two in May on the calendar for now, at least from what they told me.

I was told that the plan is 2 classes a month for the foreseeable future, they just haven't set dates for June and the following months

New hire here. Coming to Appleton ‘soon’(May TBD). Looking for some training insight such as, but not limited to; where do we stay, is there a shuttle, is the training center really at the airport, where is good to eat, how big is the info firehose & what training materials are provided?

I’m 40+, retired military and transferring from another regional. So, not my 1st trip thru a program, just looking for some insight into life in Appleton

Multiple options but most likely the Hampton inn by the mall. There is a shuttle, it should take you anywhere you need to go. Bring your car if it isn’t an insane drive. Training center is actually at the airport unless they start using the downtown location again. Too many good places to eat to list, but try the black otter supper club for a true wisconsin experience. It’s about 30 mins from ATW so you’ll either need a car or make friends with someone with a car. By the hotel there’s a decent amount of chain restaurants. Downtown has some great eats, check out Katsu-ya if you like Japanese. You really can’t go wrong if it’s on College Avenue.

lots of info. All materials you need will be provided. Pay attention, learn what they want you to learn and you’ll be fine. The program has been massively revamped since the horror stories you may have heard.

It is fast paced. Take it seriously if they say “know X by Y”. For example, they’ll tell you to know the flows/callouts before CPT. If you show up to CPT expecting to be taught the flows/callouts, you will almost certainly not make it through the first time.

why are you transferring from another regional in this environment? Not trying to take a shot at you, just genuinely curious.

Any of the food from Mai’s deli down on College. The breakfast burger at Home Burger Bar. The old fashioned at the Ambassador.

I feel bad for new guys who won’t get the Red Lion/Downtown experience...

All good info & appreciated. CBT’s on a company iPad, or are they ‘online’/company website somewhere? My 30 mins w/HR & the hiring CA didn’t leave a lot of extra time, & there has been little ‘what to expect’ correspondence so far (not a complaint, just a factual comment)

South Texas is a bit of a drive, but I plan to rent a car on off days if no one else drives. The local baseball seems a decent value as well. Must eat cheese curds & drink beer....responsibly

Was a new hire here(current place) and am fairly low on the ‘too be recalled/retrained list’ & 1 year ago was my type ride at current company & have had zero...... zero comms from the training department since w/re to the resumption of the training process or lack there of. Which, apparently at this point will be a complete redo as if it was day one all over again. So, “it’s time” to get in a cockpit, any cockpit and realize my post military aspirations. & at this point, May start sounds better than sometime between August & never, so here I am 😎

I second Mai’s Deli...Downtown ATW is a hidden gem and it’s sad that new hires may not get to experience it.
