I’m 40+, retired military and transferring from another regional. So, not my 1st trip thru a program, just looking for some insight into life in Appleton

Multiple options but most likely the Hampton inn by the mall. There is a shuttle, it should take you anywhere you need to go. Bring your car if it isn’t an insane drive. Training center is actually at the airport unless they start using the downtown location again. Too many good places to eat to list, but try the black otter supper club for a true wisconsin experience. It’s about 30 mins from ATW so you’ll either need a car or make friends with someone with a car. By the hotel there’s a decent amount of chain restaurants. Downtown has some great eats, check out Katsu-ya if you like Japanese. You really can’t go wrong if it’s on College Avenue.
lots of info. All materials you need will be provided. Pay attention, learn what they want you to learn and you’ll be fine. The program has been massively revamped since the horror stories you may have heard.
It
is fast paced. Take it seriously if they say “know X by Y”. For example, they’ll tell you to know the flows/callouts before CPT. If you show up to CPT expecting to be taught the flows/callouts, you will almost certainly not make it through the first time.
