Thanks- Feb 16th interview and waiting on a class date but it sounds like its getting closer. I know it slowed down a little with smaller classes and the skipped week.

virtual interview
I have an onsite interview sked for next week but
received an invitation for a virtual interview to
accelerate the process. Is this normal? what can I
expect?

Yes, it’s normal. Expect to have an answer for “why AA.” They’ll also ask you to explain, in layman’s terms, how you would handle a minor emergency, and delve into your flight times and certificates. Have your ATP certificate number ready, as they’ll likely ask for that. It’s low threat…

Southwest or American?

I have an interview with both, but trying to weigh pros/cons

For anyone that may have been at a wholly owned regional and submitted a CJO from a different carrier to AA pilot recruitment, how long did it take for them to give you an interview offer or a TBNT? Also, do they wait for you to get off of AA property before extending you an invite (no bonus owed then)?

As always, it depends. Here is my .02

1.) Interview with both.
2.) decide if you will commute long term or want to live in base.
3.) look at retirement data (seniority is everything)
4.) is flying one style airframe or having wide body aircraft a want
5.) bear in mind airlines go from the prom queen to a truck stop trixie and back during a career.
6.) accept your first offer, and when the other offers the CJO make your decision.
and finally
7.) you will not know you made the right decision until you retire.

congrats on the interviews

(I'm at AA and don't regret it, I have a lot of good buddies at SWA and they don't regret it.)

When does AA get to be the prom queen? It’s been 20+ years of hanging out at the truck stop. Lol.
