Quote: Just to give you an example, i was hired in January 2017, i finished my IOE end of May or beginning of June. I flew my rear end of and could have upgraded summer 2018, but i waited because i wanted to be off during the summer so i can spend time with my kids but took an October 2018 upgrade class with about 1300-1400 hours by then and i was an CRJ FO to CRJ CA.
I also ended up transitioning to the ERJ 175 in October of 2020 and lost about 50% worth of seniority.
Interesting. What drove the ERJ move for your situation?

Quote: I hit the line in March of 20' and hit 1,000 SIC November 21'. So just about 20 months. And that was during covid when many bases didn't have any scheduled block hours for 5 months straight.

I know two FOs, pre-covid, who hit their 1,000 hours 11 months after hitting the line. It can be done very quick but keep in mind it's very easy to get burnt out.
A little off topic .... need some help with acronyms. What's OO? I assume IOE is a line checkride but I don't understand why people are waiting so long from sim to IOE. Any insights there?

OO is the IATA code for SkyWest. Every airline has a weird 2 digit code that everyone references on here for brevity.

All IOE trips have to be flown with a Line Check Airman. Usually 25-40 hours and then a line check. The issue right now is LCAs are all leaving for greener pastures, along with everyone else.

IOE stands for initial operating experience, which is when you start flying the real plane. LOE is your checkride in the sim at the end of sim training before IOE. There’s a long wait between LOE and IOE cause SkyWest is losing a lot of Line Check Airman to major airlines and there’s a backlog of people waiting to fly with only so many LCA

That helps explain the timing of it all. I'm guessing these guys are getting compensated training pay for the wait?

Full reserve pay starting after LOE

PRIA/PRD
Hi all,

Quick question. For our background PRIA/PRD do I include all the part 61 schools I was an instructor at. I have instructed quite a bit over the years as an independent contractor. Started at ATP and many others after. I was never employed but sure felt like it ATP, Not sure since PRD says part 1212, 135 and 91k? Don’t want to look like I’m hiding anything but don’t want them not to get responses from these guys. Anyone recently fill out these forms recently with skywest?

PRIA applies to air carriers. Flight schools (even 141) are not air carriers. Most flight schools don’t even respond to PRIA requests.

April 19th Training Date
I have an April 19th training date for the CRJ. I received an email recently saying the training would be in person and would that I would be getting more information soon. Anyone else here have that date? I'm wondering how soon before I hear about drug testing and other on boarding information. I reached out to my recruiter this morning.

I think the email that said ATP/CTP would be held in conjunction with class came out on in early January. Like you said the email said more info coming soon but nothing else has been sent out. When I agreed to the CJO, the recruiter also said that 3 months prior to class, to look for very important onboarding items that need to be completed, like drug testing, but that email or task list has not arrived and I am well within 90 days as well.

I reached out to my recruiter on email and the phone about the drug testing and other items, but it’s been two weeks and nothing but crickets. I know they are busy, but it kind of feels like we out here without anything to go by. I am still sticking it out, but I have been starting to explore other employment opportunities. I am just looking for relatively decent communications, but it doesn’t seem to be happening and that concerns me about a future employer.
