All of the above. WB B and NB A are each likely to be the right answer at different times of a pilot’s family-raising years.

This is what I was wondering. Thanks.

Hello everybody,

I'll bounce back on this topic and ask what about NB A vs NB B (so an ultra senior one). Hourly pay way too far apart to make it work ?

72hr A Pay, you have to credit around 113 hrs NBB to make the same amount of money.

Even bidding with LCA, doesn’t guarantee that they will assign someone and you get a GS. Now, this summer I will say NB B will be very lucrative. You can make it work, if you like to play the game. Last month I did 166hrs of crdts and have been getting around 90-100 pay since January.

WB B 72hrs is about 85hrs NB B, with more time off and commutable trips.

Im getting tired, that’s why I’m changing to WB B.

LOL right! Any way you slice it, you're losing about 8 hours of sleep every time you do an over/back to Europe. You'll never really catch up from that sleep debt. That said, I'll go back to WB B some day when I'm more senior (on reserve) when I can guarantee less flying per month. A few of those 3 days per month isn't all that bad.

I was WB B (90%), displaced to NB B (sub 10%) and headed to NB A (~69%). Being senior is pretty dang awesome and even on the 717B, my trips are pretty dang good. I get exactly the trips I bid and whatever vacation I want. I don't worry about bidding vacation over particular holidays because I know I'll be able to bid them off. I pass up less desirable GSs as I can be very picky on which ones I want to take. That said, I really don't enjoy the GS game and just want to fly my guarantee and go home. I jumped over to the left seat because I figure since I'm on the NB, I might as well make he pay without having to hold out for GS. Pay/day worked is better as a WB B, but I'm really digging the 1 time zone thing for now. I expect my category to go away in the next few years and i'll likely take a displacement back to WB B if I can have some decent seniority. Mid-high seniority as a WB B seems to be about as good as life gets.

Sorry, I supposed I had to add. Tired of playing the game to make more money. I’ll probably will use my get out of jail card next year and get that A position.

Also have in mind:

1. I commute to NYC320B, even at 30% I haven’t been able to get commutable trips both ends since late 2018. I was able to get early start/early finish (almost non existent now)
2. I can’t get LCA trips all the time. When I get some, maybe only 1 tríp gets dropped.
3. We keep getting more 4 legs a day.
4. I don’t want to keep playing games picking up GS.
5. Swapping trips is almost non existent in my current category.
6. Dropping trips is almost non existent, there’s no coverage.

I’ll play the game this summer and make money. But I’m looking forward to at least give it a try. I’m heading to 330B and will be around 80%.

Now, I sound like Drum. Lol!!! I just want to give it a try.
