Quote: As an FYI for outsiders looking in, my June schedule is amazing. Easy trips, weekends off, and my longest day is two legs. Detroit 320. I don’t understand how people are still complaining (at least for my category). How much more can we ask for? I am not that senior either. Do people just not know how to bid? Serious post. I don’t understand how these trips could get any easier. Also, the 350 went somewhat junior so clearly NB pilots don’t care that much about the trips. Food for thought for new pilots who are nervous about the trips here like I was!
I’d like to know your seniority. Give me a range. You don’t understand why people are complaining because YOU got an amazing scheudle? Wow.

60% roughly! And yes, I do not understand why people are complaining. We get paid to fly airplanes, that's what we signed up for and yet people are upset because the company is making us fly airplanes? If they said we had to load bags, fill up the fuel tanks, etc. then I could see why you would complain but that's not the case. I know I am not the majority but I will not change my mind. I am very happy here. Over four years here and I enjoy the job more now than ever. I can't stand the fact that my co-workers tell RJ pilots to go to United or American because Delta sucks. If the cry babies can speak their mind, why can't the other side? I am not the only one. Just maybe the only one who posts on this forum.
Quote: the company sends the checks, but it’s ALPA that is responsible for the amount of the check.
If that company would quit playing with themselves and negotiate a contract, I might go back to a company lanyard.

Can you share your wisdom with us? The flying I'm doing continues to get more and more fatiguing. Maybe, you could make a slide for CQ like the kompany did on how not to fly fatiguing trips.

Aw man dude this isn’t going to go over well. congratulations on being in an ok category at the moment but a lot of your fellow employees are struggling with strings of un-commutable 4 leg 4 day trips. It’s one mouse click away from network destroying the 320 flying tomorrow. Hell maybe they’ll close the DTW 320 base next AE and you’ll have to decide wether you want to commute or go back to IQ. Have a little empathy with the struggle of your fellow delta pilots.

I’m NYC ER and our flying is excellent but I still empathize with the 320/737 people whose, through no fault of their own, quality of life has diminished.

as an aside, you said “I will not change my mind”. This is a bullsh!t way to go through life and the cause of much of this country’s problems. I’m ALWAYS willing and ready to have my mind changed by new evidence or a compelling argument.

Dude... Are you really not aware of the massive degradation in rotation construction over the last few years? For example, the NYC NB categories, which are 75% commuters, and have degraded to 1% commutable trips? Try for a second to put yourself in the shoes of that category, and the life suck that creates. I'm glad things are working out for you at the moment, but your experience is the outlier, not the other way around.

And that doesn't even broach the way they are executing flying operations lately. I had been rerouted 1x in my career here (granted, some of that was in a WB category with few reroutes), but the last 3 months alone I have had 75% of my rotations get rerouted. No joke.

The company is trashing its hard-earned reputation as a reliable carrier, because Flight Ops can't, or won't push back on network and marketing's lust to 'recapture lost revenue'. They are doing a ton of long-term damage with the massive cancellations, most of which is a direct result to their ill-advised decisions. If you've been here 4 years, you've been here long enough to tell a difference from when you started.
I dunno. I have definitely noticed a improvement the last 2 months as well. Sorry some fleets aren’t seeing the same.
All make good points! I am definitely getting my a** handed to me in this battle but I still believe what I believe! I am willing to change my mind but every argument I have heard so far isn't enough evidence. Keep them coming! Maybe ill change my mind

Nah man you're not alone. I'm NYC73NA and the schedules are pretty nice. I saw the schedules in ATL and decided to commute to happiness. I agree with you that a pilot should with all the available movement nearly everyone on the seniority list should be able to find somewhere that'll make them happy. As you stated A350 went to what, 11,500.

Thank you! Someone who gets it. I was starting to feel like a crazy person. 11,500 out of 13,800 is 83%. The people complaining about their trips are NB. Only 17% of pilots are forced to do NB, everyone else is doing it by choice (with the exception of seat locks which is only tempo). If every single complaint on here is coming from the bottom 17% then I am in the wrong but I am willing to bet that is not the case.
