Loved the 3 hour turns in KIN and the 4 hr turns in PAP. God forbid the 16 HR crew days due to horse hauling.

You will simply be able to poach from Swift, Xtra, Amerijet, Dynamic and Air21. Yes, you will have to pay better. Commuting from ANC will be nearly impossible. Miami is a tough place to be based. The mass transit system is ok but unreliable. 36th street can be rather um, unsavory, let's say. Miami is not that cheap either. Hotels and car rentals are high in the winter for obvious reasons. Housing is coming back but it's still not cheap. Also keep in mind it can all change again. ANC then LRD now MIA, what next?

Best of luck to the NCA crews.

How are the contract negotiations going and does NAC have a 767 type on Cert. or is NAC buying Florida West for it?

Help with new MIA base
There's not much information out there about NAC. I'm trying to find out some info on the new MIA project. I'm a south florida local and have an upcoming interview. Looking forward to not commute.
These are my questions:

1. How many 767s for MIA?
2. How close (or far) is a new contract? Rumors on payscale for the 737 and 767?
3. Days off? Min day pay (duty rigs IF)?
4. Total expected growth? How many pilots on property? What percentage willing to relocate to MIA?
5. Management-pilot relationship? (Not expecting it to be the best, but within reason)
6. Contract compliance, abuse from management?
7. What are your biggest frustrations with the company, what do you like/hate about it?

Please save your career advise like "go to UPS, go to FedEx" no kidding... if you talk to them, tell them to call me.
Please don't mention the other ACMI's: Atlas, Southern, ABX, ATI, etc. (nothing against those guys, just know enough and don't want to derail the purpose of the thread)

Looking for objective answers. I care about being local, not commuting and have a decent quality of life. Not expecting UPS/FedEx rates. Just a place where I could spend a few years on without being miserable.

I know some people don't like to post public, so if you want to PM me, I'd be grateful.

You have an interview scheduled? Congrats! You have some good questions for them.

Answer to your questions vamp.

1. 2 767-300 at least 1 737-400 maybe more
2. Contract we hope will be signed by March but not sure could go to April?
3. Schedule 14 on 14 off
4. It sounds like NAC could grow a bit in the next couple years. In my opinion if you get in the first class you will probably most likely upgrade in under a year. We have 44 pilots at least 20 added in the next year.
5. As a pilot group we have a good relationship with Management. We realize they have a job to do. Of course there are those days. But we respect each other. We are small company. We all know each other.
6. No one ever tries to intentionally abuse each other but again we have those days. Lack of planning sometimes hits us.
7. In all it is not a bad place to work, as long as you do your job they pretty much leave you alone. We can be a bit unorganized sometimes that is my biggest complaint but to their credit they try to make things better - it may take a long time but they do (management) care.

I hope this helps.

Kool-aid this time of year? Management cares about the bottom line.

What are the new contract rates out of curiosity?

With the regionals offering up 70k+ a schedule and quick upgrade I cant understand why anyone would go work for a non-sked.
