Exactly my point. So you're saying HNL needs three to fly your schedules, plus 1 backup. ANC needs 2+1. So if the MX spare bounces back and forth, thats 6 737 airframes between the two domiciles. The LRD numbers are down, so whether they keep a 7th there is a big question mark.

By bringing the two operating certificates together, they effectively need less aircraft to fly the same schedules, because they can share aircraft between HNL and ANC for MX spares. If you eliminate the need for two 737's between the two fleets, that brings total growth of the combined fleet to one airframe. Now, I don't know that this is the case, but they sure don't seem worried about replacing the aircraft that are timing out.
.
how do you "bounce " a spare airplane back and forth? the whole point of a spare is that it is in place in the base you need it.

That might work for NAC because they don't fly much. But at Aloha what are you going to do at 0300 when running 3 lines and a plane breaks? Call ANC and tell them to fly the spare down so they can finish the line?

I’m not really sure why we’re arguing over minor details, though. When the list is integrated, any consolidation is bad for both groups. It won’t be a win for HNL guys if ANC loses lift or vice versa. We’re negotiating for a joint CBA. We can’t afford to view ourselves as separate groups any longer, and despite what you may have heard, very few among our group actually have anything against the HNL group. I personally look forward to flying with you guys and gals, and I think you’ll like flying with our group too.

I don’t know where you get the idea that the ANC birds are any less utilized than the HNL fleet. They fly around the clock too. If they’re true to form, they’ll just give all the freight to the competition. Everts built their ANC base on flying that NAC gave away. They’re chartering two Lynden flights today.

I agree it doesn't serve you well to act as separate groups, but from what my friends say, that is exactly what some of your group is doing. Like trying to staple all the Aloha guys to the bottom of a new list. Not exactly the "lets work together attitude". and no arbitrator has ever agreed to a merge like that. or guys in ANC saying stuff about the AQ guys in 767 training when they were up there instead of welcoming them.

I don't work at AQ so don't have a dog in the fight but I have a few friends that do.

As for the SLI, thats information that I'm not privy to, nor should the AAC pilot group be. However, I trust the guys who were on that committee enough to know that they would not take a position like that. The general consensus has always been that any joint list should be something fair that wouldn't create the bad blood we see at other merged airlines. Now, if some knucklehead made a comment to that effect in a crew room somewhere, I certainly haven't heard it, and I'd tell them they were an idiot if they did. It's not fair to take a few comments made by one or two people and apply it to a whole group, and it certainly isnt helpful to our shared goal of getting this contract done.
