Quote: But aside from any of that, we're covered under GA flying with the standard plan almost everyone is on right?
I posted the exact info I got from the ALPA people on the subject. The only exclusion for the company paid for insurance is if the death is at the hands of the beneficiary. I specifically asked about Scuba diving and private flying. I believe that insurance amount is now well north of 800,000.00. I pointed the exclusion clause out to my wife to help me sleep!
In other words, don't fly your wife to the Caymans for a week of diving. We've had wives and pilots involved in some nefarious situations.

Sounds like a good story...
Does anybody know how personal drops work? I put one in the open board, somebody picked it up. So now my schedule shows P/D. Is there anything I should know about this? Like can I greenslips over this? I just lose he credit for the trip right? I don't lose a vacation day or anything right?

PDs are just a straight drop for no pay. The P/D shows up just for clerical reasons mostly. There are no restrictions for you now. If it was an APD then you couldn’t work on the days APD show on your schedule.

You are good to go. Only "negative" is the loss of pay/credit.

If you have any payback days in the bank you can put them over the PD and get paid to stay home.
Thanks for the help guys. I actually do have one payback day. Can I still use it even though I already dropped the trip? If so, how do I do that?

PCS, leave requests, pay back day. If your trip is already personal dropped, you cant retroactively drop it again with a payback day if that is what you are asking. You have to find another trip or rsv day to drop now. Btw, one payback day drops a day trip.

At the risk of highlighting the obvious...if you pick up a 1-day from item time worth 8:00, you can drop it on the next PCS run (assuming adequate reserve coverage). You could, of course, then pick it up again and actually fly it. 16-hour 1-day without having to meet the GS trigger. Seniority ain't just for getting weekends off...
When jumpseating, wearing business casual, can you bring your bag down to the ramp with your ID? Do you have to be in uniform?
