We had a CRV until we up gauged to a Honda Odyssey (after second kid and, ugh, fourth dog). Nothing bad to say. Midrange trim is more than adequate (at least it was for us), and we owned the thing 6 years with no major problems. Had to have the brake rotors replaced after about 2 years, but I suspect that was mostly driver induced. Only negative I can think of is that Honda does fall short on their warranties compared to their closest competitors.
Hava a friend with a Kia and it was in and out of MX the first year pretty frequently but has been reliable since then. Don't know anything about the RAV 4.
