Add to that Frontier is parking 50 seaters. Pinnacle's future isn't bright, as Saabs are being parked and their 100+ CRJ200 contract expires in 2017.
On Comair - thats what happens when people start to make B scale wages again.. They shuffle it away. In the same period of time that comair has been shrinking, Compass and Shuttle have been growing.
ASA's lost flying on DCI is going to GoJet, again with the shuffle.
Pinnacle's future - is future. Not present. All speculation.
Frontier is an amalgamation and poorly run airline. Nothing short of a sell off can save that place from BB. The very few parked chataqua 145s are being used outside of airline service for charters where they can.
Speaking of the present - 5 minutes on wikipedia/apc reveals appx ~890 50 seat RJs
currently flying in service of legacy airline branded operations in the US alone.
Far from dead.
