Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
That assumes we will pursue a prohibition on all GTF outsourcing. Zero seats if its GTF. I'd be very suprised if that was in there. We mentioned props and I don't think we're aiming to eliminate all outsourced props. I think we just want to get them covered in the existing allowable seat counts and therefore I think that's all we're aiming for with GTF's.
And like I said, if we don't lower the number of allowable outsourced jets, we will never sunset DCI because not only will management never be able to pass up the opportunity to outsource 255 turbofan DC-9-10's, new technonogy will eventually lead to more efficient models even without GTF. There is an entire industry dedicated to designing and building "scope jets" and whatever we allow now will be maximized and shoved down our throats for decades to come.

Production Balances can mean many things. That is why I say, wait for an agreement, but keep reafirming your damnds of a contract that has positive gains in every section, with scope gains being a large part of that. I will wait to pass judgement on the product we are given to vote on. There is a very strong chance that the first agreement; if subpar, is voted down by the MEC and we never see it.
I never understood that - the internet allowed the airlines to save $35 on the commission to the travel agent, but lost hundreds by competing with Priceline.

JFK-EWR
Air Train to Jamaica Station
LIRR Jamaica st - Penn Station
NJ Transit Train Penn Station - Newark Airport (This is the toughest leg of the journey, hard to time the trains that stop at Newark Airport)
Air Train to Terminal B
Says it takes 1:56, but that is assuming you hit the trains right, and that is best case.
You can also do
Air Train to Howard beach
A train to Canal St
Path to Newark (city)
NJT train to Newark Airport ( again this is the tricky part )
Air Train to terminal
JFK-LGA
Not sure, but by public trans you can
Air train to Jamaica
E train to Sutphin
7 train to Archer
Q48 bus to terminal
There is also the Q runner, but not sure how that works.

While the PBS guy didn't talk about this, the Treasurer did. It was said at the last meeting, in the context of a FPL discussion, that 87 hours was the average pay hours per lineholder. This includes vacation, sick, etc.
Why not inlcude Reserves? I think they should.
At any rate... you got better numbers?

At any rate... you got better numbers?
Lineholder: 10,700 x 85% = 9,095 x 87 hrs = 791,265 hrs/mo.
...Reserve: 10,700 x 15% = 1,605 x 71 hrs = 113,955 hrs/mo.
113,955 + 791, 265 = 905,220 / 10,700 = 84.6 hrs/mo.
So it is only a 2.4 hour difference, and remember that the 87 number is a max, many ALPA volunteers don't even do enough volunteer days to equal the max fill up.
Also no pilot can pick up a premium pay trip if they get ALPA "flight pay loss", so it actually can REDUCE the income of pilots who would have picked up a premium trip once a year (all theoretical of course, I haven't had a premium trip in years.....)

And THAT, my friend, is the crux of the argument. And needs to be in DALPA's quiver.

Carl,
When you have time, would you explain how the number of hours my butt is in the seat has anything to do with MY productivity as an employee/cost center/pilot of any given airline ? I'm pretty sure a FDX/UPS bubba will generate more revenue for their company than our legacy brothers in a similar crew position.......on a month to month basis, regardless of hard hours flown respectively....I'm pretty sure you know this. Working more/harder does not equal smarter/more productive.
Regards,
BG
