Quote: I just don't see how this is possible. One hour prior to ETA we start receiving calls from the FA's saying "What is our ETA?" - even though we already told them our ETA. I used to think this was a pain in the butt since all four or five FA's would individually call up on their own and ask the same question - from now on I don't think I will mind.

Scoop
Maybe the North FA's don't call every 10 minutes like the south ones do, haha.

As far as the starbucks thing, only pilots could come up with something so cheap!
Quote: Must have been former RJ pilots.......................
Actually EMB 145.
Quote: Didn't learn this at flight school or at the airline:
Did learn this during my current unemployment:

1. Purchase a Starbucks card, load $5, and register it online.
2. Save your last "paid for" cup, or pick one out of the trash. Your discretion.
3. Refills are forever free after that. $0.52 cent charge becomes $0.00 when you present your registered Starbucks card to the cashier.
4. Lifespan of reused cup is 4-5 refills. When cup deteriorates and develops heavy leak, request new cup, pour contents of leaking cup into new cup, and begin cycle at step #2.

Discuss pros and cons to stay awake during long flights.

But hey, I'm living in a van and have time to kill on APC attempting to encourage total strangers to crack a smile....
You probably live at the airport too huh?

LAX parking lot is home away from home for airline workers - Los Angeles Times
My guess ?

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ......................... .........

If they lied about it..........they're history.

Can you cool it off in the rear. I am cold up front. The mid is stuffy. Can you make a PA and turn the seat belt sign on, too many people are waiting for the Lav.....
Media watching
Quote: Here's an interview with a passenger. He reports the pilots had been making announcements. Also says the "dark suits" removed a "case" from the cockpit on landing. What might that have been?
The written article is by this poster. Article has a link directly back to this site. FWW... be aware of what you post
Quote: Not an Airbus driver so I'm just asking out of curiosity, Boeings have the "Pilot Response" caution that turns into a warning with an aural if left unattended and it comes on after a while of no inputs from the pilots, do Airbus have something similar?
That's an airline option. I fly the 757 and 767 and our planes don't do that.

BEGIN SARCASM

My guess is that they were talking about one of three things.

Transition to Phase 4 procedures and why they suck.

The quality of regional vs mainline pilots.

Did Lee Harvey Oswald really act alone.

END SARCASM

I think you all should call CNN and apply for a job as the guy they interview on TV after any aviation incident. You are all apparently experts on what happened to any flight before getting any details.

SkyDriver,

YouDaMan!!!

Once again, we as pilots speculating on everything under the sun without knowing all the facts. When the investigation is done then we can make a judgement. I find it ridiculous that this incident and the Atlanta incident have so many "professionals" willing to hang these dudes out to dry without knowing facts. Are these guys or gals not entitled to at least some respect regarding these incidents until its proven what actually happened? Unbelievable the things we do to ourselves.
