Quote: As someone who doesn't work here, who cares what you think about Eagle............your opinion on this subject is pointless. But hey.................If you're satisified working at both McD's and Chick-Fil-A with an occasional 172 landing thrown in, good for you.

What's your schedule for getting that GM spot at Chick-Fil-A ?
Eaglefly, hey if your satisfied flying for a regional at 40+, good for you.

What's your schedule for getting a chief pilot spot at Eagle?

No schedule.............couldn't afford the pay cut.

Which, BTW is the same reason I passed on UAL 9 years ago (not that it would matter, because I'd be on the street now anyway).

Looks like my forsight was correct.

Quote: Good points. For those who have no experience they'll go anyways but for those of us with previous 121 it's a harder decision going to Eagle. I'm thinking of applying but already know too well the BS of reserve life from my previous airline and I really don't want to do it for 2 years or more. And I know that if I go to Eagle I'm going to have to settle for a possibly 10-15 year career there to get decent PIC time because I don't want to keep moving airlines and start over. I'm not crazy about the ATR in SJU either. Eagle is good for those that are starting fresh that maybe live locally at the domiciles that don't mind staying that long but for some of us it's a tough place to go. Can you get on at Delta with 8000 hours ERJ SIC time?
Reserve sucks no matter what regional you are at. Like you said, Eagle is really great for those who live in one of our bases. Or someone who doesnt mind relocating. Or someone who can deal with being home 4-5 days a month total when commuting to RSV.

It not an easy pill to swallow to commute to RSV across the country as an FO for 2 years, but it can be a painful decision when it is eventually time to upgrade here. Do you commute across the country to sit eternal reserve (much longer than 2 yrs) as a CA or stay as a 10 yr FO?

Yes, you can get hired at just about any carrier with just right seat FO time, IF you know the right people. We have had lots of FOs leave Eagle for the places mentioned by eaglefly, but you need to make up for lacking PIC time by having serious connections and a great personality.

Must be the new mins. I know the old mins were a lot lower when they were hiring before, so this isnt an old posting left over from previous.

Aside from the 3407 ramifications, they are aware that there are plenty of pilots who could use 30K/year, health care and travel bennies vs. unemloyment, COBRA and penny-pinching to feed their families. At least it would provide some ability to elevate ones head farther above the waterline.

I'm sure they'll have a substantially higher level of quals from prospective applicants this time around.

So far, that past 8 months doing the commute from DFW to ORD hasn't really been that bad. I've only spent $150 in just one of those months at a hotel (4 points). There have been 2 months that I didn't need one at all. I've gone back and forth on RSV, COMP, and 1 month holding a line. IMHO, I've been lucky and have worked the RSV system the best I could.

I have 1 more month and then I'm back in DFW.

Keep that pop corn pop'n!

Does eagle require you give up your seniority number from another company?

Quote: Where did you work before, the reason I ask is because RSV at Eagle is a lot different then most regionals reserve system.
could you please add to that?
