Quote: Hey everyone. I just got home from a trip and I'm interviewing on 2/11. I just saw on the application asking if your medical is current within in previous 6 months. Is that a major "make or break" item for the interview? No where in the interview packet does it state you need a current medical(within 6 months). It's kinda difficult to arrange a flight physical in a week.
Seems that's merely a question to make sure that you're current with a First Class medical as that's going to be a condition of employment if selected.

If nothing else, ask them when you get down there and when they give you the answer you can follow it up with one of those strong statements. Et, al. "Thank You. As I wanted to make sure this wasn't a deal breaker on my application as Atlas is where I want to be." You know, don't be afraid to tell them you want the job and sell yourself. Albeit, you don't have to bring presents for the interview team, either.

Good Luck in your interview.

I'll be there on the 12th. The gouge on here was good for probably 40% of the questions on the online test. I got the same situation where I took the test before the phone screening. I wouldn't say that is now how it done quite yet, the two main HR people had overlapping absences recently so that may have thrown their routine out of kilter. Phone interview included questions as previously discussed, mostly just making double extra sure I would be willing to hit the road for 17 days. Asked if I knew anyone inside the company. Very low threat and put me at ease. Good luck to everyone!

Good luck to the upcoming batch of interviewees. First day of class today and I'll say that so far this place is nothing less than top notch. Well worth the 3+ years of applying, challenging interview process, and months in the pool. Without a doubt.

Quote: Oh come now, you've been reading these posts long enough to know it's not you, it's them. Yes or no:.. do you meet the requirements to apply, if yes than you're in the stack. How they chose who they chose from the stack (outside of going to conferences which seems to put you on top of the stack) lives only in legend, the untouchable legend of picking people to interview at Atlas. We all hear whispers but no one really knows for sure.
What he said!!!!! I've got two words for ya HR!!!! Wait that's two letters....Ive got two letters for ya....Human Resources!!!! Nuts...well you get it. There is absolutely no telling how they pick out of the stack. Forget about Atlas and move on and I guarantee they will call. During my interview a few years ago I thought I tanked the HR portion and couldn't wait to get out of there so I could catch the first flight out of town. I got a call a week later. You just never know. You've read the thread so you know what and who they hire. All of you....don't beat your self up. Yea I know its easy for me to say since I'm already here but its true. Hang tough.

Yes today, but nothing earth shattering

Can someone please clarify the training pay. I read that it is $1600 per month plus $56 per day for per diem. But I also read that once you finish your PC you go home for several weeks before you start IOE. So I assume then that you go for one month without per diem? Would it be correct to budget 3 months at around $2800 take home, and one month at maybe at $1200? (I am assuming $1600 minus the taxes). So I suppose first month $2800, second $2800, third $1200, and fourth $2800?

Unfortunately you guys started at the very beginning of the month. Per diem for February will be paid on the 3/31 check. Definitely budget for ~$1200 this month. Sorry, I know, it sucks.

Remember Per diem is paid a month in arrears - So January PerDiem is paid at the end of February. Can't comment on the take home amount - it depends on your state and deductions you choose. In my case I took 9 weeks in Miami had a short time at home then completed IOE in 9 days, then a couple of days off to finish off my third month.

So using that as a training schedule and assuming starting on 1/1 the paychecks gross would be:-

1/15 $800
1/31 $800
2/15 $800
2/28 $800 plus per diem $1785.60
3/15 $800
3/31 $800 plus per diem $1612.80
4/15 $1931.75
4/30 $1931.75 plus per diem $57.60 per day worked in March

If your IOE is delayed you get the training pay $800 gross per paycheck for a maximum of 4 months then on to first year 50 hour guarantee at $77.27 per hour.

Also you may be interested that First year pay came to around $56500 with Per diem of around $10800 including per diem paid during training in Miami. I worked no extra days.
