To all furloughed United pilots,
There are still slots available for the next two “new hire” classes at SkyWest Airlines under the terms of LOA 03-22 “Job Opportunities for Furloughed United Pilots”. The first class will start on 25 April and the next on 30 May 2011. These are all FO positions in the CRJ at second year CRJ 700 pay. These classes will be filled in seniority order based on a furloughed pilot’s preference indicated by their submitted FCOL Preference form on file as of 18:00 CDT Wednesday, 30 March 2011. Interviews for the 25 April 2011 class will be held next week April 4th through 8th. There are several interview dates available for the 30 May 2011 class. The interviews will be held in SLC. If you are interested in an opportunity with SkyWest flying the CRJ and you have previously submitted an FCOL Preference form indicating a preference to work at SkyWest, SkyWest SJ only, “First Available” or “First Available SJ class” and have not passed on a previous offer, there is no need to submit a new FCOL Preference form, unless you wish to change your preference or contact information. If you have NOT submitted an FCOL Preference form, logon to http://ual.alpa.org, click on the “Furlough” pull down, and then on “Jobs”, scroll down the Jobs page to get to the information about LOA 03-22, click on the link titled “Online Interactive FCOL Preference form” to submit the form electronically. Once submitted you will receive an e-mail confirmation at your e-mail on file with ALPA.
Please utilize the information available on the “Jobs” page to answer most of your questions concerning LOA 03-22 and the process. Questions concerning these job offers received by e-mail or phone will be answered time permitting. If possible, discuss taking this job offer with your spouse or significant other, so if you are called with the offer you will have already made your decision
I can just hear it, "Honey, should I take this job that is really my old job, but disguised in a smaller airplane that has the same paint job, but pays less than a school teacher?" 10 years of seniority and this is what we get? I kind of appreciated the offer when it seemed like economics driving the downturn. But now that the big picture is evident, I'm basically outsourcing myself at 1/4 of the pay!!!
POUND SAND! GET THE JCBA DONE AND GET MY F-ING JOB BACK! Seriously ****ed off.
