You must live in Washington state.

Quote: A new route doesn't mean it is a regional route. My statement is that historically this flying is mainline. Lay off the insults.
How can it be historical if you've never flown it?

That was a statement, not a question.
Quote: 2/3 of our flying was our own branded operation. We advertised and sold our own seats. The CRJs replaced our F-28 that we flew since the early 80s. PDX-AUS is mainline.
What about the other third of your flying? I always find it amusing when a regional pilot complains about their flying being replaced...Hypocrite much? You were cheaper than Alaska mainline....SkyWest is cheaper than you....GoJet/Compass/TSA are cheaper than SkyWest....
Quote: Doesn't mean it is a mainline route either. Historically? LOL, there is no history on the route. Might want to just call it a night, and log off.
No regional flights in Alaska history have ever been this long.

Other third was CPA flying. We were cheaper, so we fought for a contract that made us the highest paid CRJ pilots. In 2007 our RJ rates topped out at $121 an hour. Higher the US airways 190 rates. Now it is your turn.
Quote: So what? You think everything needs to be on the range of a Metro or something?
By everything, do you mean regionals? If so, then yes. That is why they are called regionals.

CPA flying that was cheaper than Alaska doing it as mainline flying....You are a hypocrite. Regional flying is outsourced mainline flying and you had no problem doing it. Now you are being outsourced and your butt is hurt. SkyWest may get outsourced to even cheaper feed. Maybe ALPA and APA should have done a better job two decades ago regarding scope...Give it a rest. Comair and ACA got totally replaced. Horizon and other high cost regionals may follow in their steps.

I remember when you guys flew the F28 from SJC to SEA...I guess that was "regional" because you flew it. You are complaining about the exact same thing you did.

I disagree with the whole CPA business model. I never said I was ok with it. I'm happy flying a Q400. All regionals should fly their own brand and be done with CPAs. The use of CPA flying is a means to force down wages and enable the whipsaw. No hypocrisy here, I am a vocal advocate of the death of CPA flying.
