Past Experience: CL 65 SIC COmair
EMB 145 FO Chautauqua

2700TT 1700 jet SIC
last jet flight 6/2010

60 hours in the past year C172

Commercial pilot.

Do I get my ATP and try to get on with jetblue or go back to a regional to get jet current and wait for upgrade?

I'd try to get my ATP to get it. I don't think (could be wrong) JB is going to look favorably upon not being current. (by current I mean not in a 172, actually flying Turbine equipment somewhere.) I've heard Eagle may be doing pretty well for a while? May be your best best at a slightly better regional.

I'm certainly not on the hiring board, and I'm not trying to be rude, but with that experience I'd be shocked if you had any chance of getting on with jetBlue. There are too many folks out there with tons of jet PIC trying to get hired. I'd focus on securing some of that.

Two 121 jobs and only 1700 hours of 121 time?

Okay, take ONE job at ONE regional, STAY there for MORE than one year, and UPGRADE at that company. THEN you might be more likely to get on with JB.

My guess is furloughed from Comair.

Good luck with everything!

If I was in your shoes I'd be beating down doors for some cargo operator with single pilot twin turbine time. You'd get hired there and that could propel you past the regionals rather than starting over there. Not to mention you'll make more money at cargo than SIC at a regional.

That's not a bad idea. But it still requires the OP to climb the ranks to get ahead: imagine flying five nights per week, living in sphincter hole Arkansas, loading and unloading 3000 lbs of freight. That is work!

Unfortunately, from his other posts, he is unwilling to do that and just wants to leap frog everyone and make his way to a mainline. Apparently, earning one's stripes is below him.

It's not easy to get hired from that straight to a major. SWA maybe but most others would prefer some jet, glass, or 121 experience. It can be done, but probably not without connections. With your regional FO time it might be possible, but I'd hate to get stuck in 135 unless that's what you want to be doing.

Quote: Pilot with 4 years at regional with no pic with a chance to go to gojet as pic. Otherwise 5 years to upgrade at other regionals. Wwyd?
Quote: 4 years at chq

I thought you had been flying at CHQ for 4 years?

Thought the mins at Gojet were 4500 for DEC? If you only have 2700, how you gonna get any PIC. Does Gojets not have enough Fo's with the times to upgrade? Dont listen to the CP at Gojets, they need pilots, not Capts!
