An excerpt from a friends letter, I'm an Eagle guy so I'm having time explaining why/if they are really using this process to pull pilots from the pool for a class, NEVER heard of it being done this way. Almosts defeats the purpose of performing above average on the interview.
"Congratulations! I am pleased to inform you that your interview was successful. You will be placed in our pilot pool for a period of six months with a conditional offer of employment as we wait for the drug screening results, fingerprint results and background check. If offered a class date, the conditional offer will be based on your successful completion of flight training. Continue to build your time and experience and update your application on
Airline Applications as we select the most suitable applicant for classes from this pool.
The impact of HR 5900, and how it will effect Express Jet Airlines and all 121 airline hiring is still being determined. We do, however, know with certainty that the more qualified you are, the better your chances of being placed in a class in a timely manner."
