Quote: Jet blue. And run

get a320 and you will be frontier/spirit bait

The regionals are about to implode. ESPECIALLY if you’re at a carrier with no staple prospects
Serious question…with the exception of living in base, why would anyone leave JetBlue for Spirit or Frontier?

Had a JB captain jumpseating on my flight and said he wouldn't jump from a regional with a flow to jb. Especially a flow to delta. Im like yeah I'm glad we have it but best case I'm looking at 3.5-4 years til my flow number gets called for Delta. Dude said he's been at jb since 2005. That didn't make any sense to me other than are things are bad over there? I too would be a commuter but where I live theres 23 flights a day to NYC.

I find that most of the guys that have been here since 2005 are mostly out of touch with reality. Like what was said before, I’m done having this flow or go to JB conversation.

I agree. The goal of a regional is to get in and get out. I have zero intention of staying til mine. Unless it dips to 2 years..which at the rate the last 2 months we have been losing pilots it might. Then in that case that's on me to figure out and not anyone else. I'm currently filing out an app for blue. I was just curious to why that CA would it said that. I think JB has a lot of upside over the next 5 years. But that's my opinion.

I mean you’re just providing an example of what one person said. You can find a variety of opinions if you ask around, it doesn’t make it gospel. Some will say hold out for Legacy X because we’re the best. Some will say go to Jetblue because working at Legacy X is terrible. Some will say leave the industry all together.

None of the conventional wisdom addresses the current hiring environment. Waiting a year or two for A1 or XYZ just means they will have hired 2000 pilots between now and then.

I flew with some dudes who were miserable at JB for absolutely no reason other than that they were miserable dudes. Not much you can do for them. I truly enjoyed my time working at JB and would recommend going there over a regional 10/10 times. If I didn’t get picked up by Fred I’d have had a great career there.

There are some miserable jerks at JB who hate themselves. He wasn’t giving you advice, he was wallowing in his inability to be satisfied with life.

JB can easily be a career destination. I know multiple people who have turned down legacy interviews or stopped updating their apps. We have a couple forums/FB groups here full of anger that eats some people alive.
