Honest Opinions

Hello. I am in need of some honest opinions. I am currently an FO at a regional. Current upgrade time is DEC next year. (Maybe sooner). Flow is projected about 6 years. I am trying to make the decision to go to JetBlue or stay with a regional and upgrade. My commute for Jetblue would be difficult. But I know current pilots who live near me and make the commute work. I can 100% see myself at JetBlue for my career. Not saying I wouldn’t keep my apps open for other places. But I would be very happy with JetBlue. Any thoughts? Stay at regional upgrade and see if I get a call for an easier commute? Go to JetBlue?

The regionals are about to implode. ESPECIALLY if you’re at a carrier with no staple prospects

I can’t even believe this is a question. Pass up on a major to stay at a regional 6 more years for a flow? There’s a list of reasons this is a terrible idea lol…not to mention the 190 upgrade here just went under 2 years.

In my eyes it is not worth the wait. No one knows what American will be like a year from now let alone 6 years. I understand how difficult commuting would be as I do it myself but I always looked at the regionals as a stepping stone to get in, get experience and get out. The flow was an insurance policy. At the end of the day do what you think is best for your situation but what is guaranteed today may not be guaranteed tomorrow! Best of luck!
