This was my final airline. I was sure of it.
All my apps are out and updated.
Surely you must be looking for a widebody or a base...

Yes there are other reasons but those seem to be what gets spoken about the most. I fly with plenty of FO's on their way out and that seems to be the narrative.
As for the last sentence. I don't have a clue what talking points you are talking about. I have outlook sending all corp comm emails above CL's stuff right into it's own folder that I purge weekly.. Stopped reading that 💩 years ago.
I need to say this part again. There was a time in recent memory where the average SWA W2 was higher than most legacy guys. Yet SWA didn't have widebody aircraft, and attrition at that time was not significant from SWA to the legacy airlines.

Pilots don't LIKE to start over once they have a year or two at a "major". Fly from a JB base to just about any legacy base and you will almost certainly have JB pilots commuting home or to work. Many of those pilots didn't even apply to said legacy, or stopped updating their apps after a year or 2, in the past anyway. These guys that live in other airline bases CAN be kept. Not all, but many if not most WOULD stay, if the W2 was there and the QOL was there and the airline had a RUDDER, and a captain that wasn't a pirate.

Saying that dudes are leaving for wide-bodies and bases is mostly disingenuous, or at least an incomplete explanation. JB isn't doing the most basic things needed to keep these guys, so they have ALL the other reasons to leave INCLUDING wide-bodies and bases. When your pay, profit sharing, seniority movement, vacation weeks, operational integrity AND wide-bodies + bases are available, why not leave?

Like I said, operate BOS-CLT or MSP or DTW or ORD or ATL or DEN or DFW and you will almost certainly have a JB pilot commuting, some have been here 5-10-15+ years. You CAN keep them, but not the way the airline/operation is currently being run or with the pay, profit sharing, reserve grids, garbage pairings, etc...

Looking for the same base (NYC area), and more seniority in a narrow body aircraft.
I mean, not that 14 years to hold weekends off as a captain isn’t appealing or anything.
Or it being another 15 years to crack the top 2,000.

Hope you don't mind an AA puke chiming in, but a few months ago I flew with an FO that came over after 4 years at JetBlue. That person lived in NYC, and what you're talking about is exactly what they were chasing. When you combine NYC being crazy junior with widebody slots grabbing a certain percentage of the list, it doesn't take long to get senior in the right seat of a narrowbody. A quick look shows 3.5 years gets you into the top 20% as a 737 FO. Guessing it's similar or better at United or Delta.

That said, I've got 8 years on property and can't hold weekends off in the left seat unless I bid reserve. Covid really stagnated us on the CA side. We just had a few bids with a large number of upgrades, so once those guys hit the line hopefully things will start moving again.

Don’t mind at all. That’s exactly what I’m talking about.
Over three years here and at 66% in base, and it begins to slow down as well. Further, all our seniority is based on growth.
Appreciate the data point.

It was a joke, as some still want to insist guys only leave for wide-bodies or bases. Obviously NOT the case.

Hi Bot. I just got contacted to schedule my phase 1 face to face interview for Instructor. In the paperwork it stated "All candidates will be advised
of their status within 8 to 12 weeks" after the phase 2 interview.

Good luck, hope that helps.

Is phase 1 the video record interview and phase 2 in person?

Anyone have any recent reports of how long it takes to hear back from each phase?

Tango Mike, the Flight Instructor application paperwork states that "Phase One of our interview process includes an interview with our Recruitment Team, consisting of a People Department representative and a JetBlue Pilot, a log book review, a debrief with a JetBlue University Manager, and a presentation."

If not selected in Phase one, you will be notified within 2 weeks.

The it states "Those who are selected for additional evaluation will progress to Phase Two. We will conduct an extensive background check, whereby we access information such as prior training records. Once the candidate’s background is complete, the files are passed on to a committee of impacted stakeholders who will review the information and make a final decision on moving a candidate into our “ready now” pool of Instructors. All candidates will be advised of their status within 8 to 12 weeks, and will be notified by telephone or e-mail.

Apparently the recorded audio to the 5 online questions is the first part of Phase one.

Hope that helps.
