Where is this information coming from?

Wrong.

The company needs this change not us. That change needs to be negotiated. So again the company just spit on our contract.

Yea, go JB.

I get the frustration over LOA 17, and how management previously just ignored the pilots and proceeded with the NEA. But you’re mad that they’re giving new hires MORE than the contractual minimum $2000 a month right now when they desperately need it?

The company can’t just unilaterally make changes to pay. I’m happy the guys are getting what they should. I’m not happy the CBA is being violated to do it, if in fact it is.

Yes, because it’s a violation of our contract. Why are Pilots terrible at recognizing leverage?

The company needs this change. We should not allow them to bail themselves out by violating our contract. If they want it, they need to come to us and offer us contract improvements in exchange.

I want the new hires to get paid just as much as everyone else, but learn to recognize leverage and apply it.

I assure you that the company didn’t do it because they care about the new hires. If they’re doing that, it’s because they think it will help their retention problem.

Why waste time negotiating a CBA if the company just uses it as toilet paper. Very happy for the new hires this should have happened months ago. It should have happened the correct way and negotiated with the union. Maybe those same new hires can also see how the company literally violates the CBA time after time.

Hopefully this hasn’t been answered…
Once your job applied status changes to “Background cleared”, how long does it take to get a class date?

Has it been confirmed that the company is paying new hires a bonus outside the CBA? If so this is established case law. They can't do it and since its not an interpretation of our CBA we can sue in open court. This was done by one of the regionals a few years ago over new hire bonuses and they won.

I got a class date confirmation when it said in compliance phase. It just switched to “background cleared” but still no Phase 2 complete email. Haven’t put my resignation letter as I haven’t heard a definite answer if I’m through phase 2 or not.
